Amazing. Pay for only what you watch. With Netflix, Amazon Prime, HBO GO and Hulu Plus you don't need cable/satellite.

Disappointed

I have had constant issues with my Roku 3. I can watch my shows by lap top and ipad with no issues. When I try to use my Roku, Hulu rarely works, everything freezes up, shows constantly drag, and I have to constantly remove and reinstall my channels. I've had my internet and everything else checked and they are fine. Everything points to the box itself. I was excited when I ordered this but are now disappointed that I had. Looking into other streaming options.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great features, initial issues improved with updat

The Roku is OK overall. There were some initial connection issues where the connection would be lost after ~a day (i.e. would work one night, then unable to connect the following day). There's no off switch, so we would have to reboot it. The device automatically updates and this improved after last update. I would have to say that it doesn't have much on a Chrome Cast if you simply want to watch NetFlix and a few other things. You need a subscription for all the apps.

Fast, Snappy, Easy.

Being forced to sign up and give personal information along with our credit card info was a surprise and a let down. It just felt wrong. Roku not having a power button takes getting used to. Everything else is perfect. WAAAYYY faster than our high end smart tv and bluray built in streaming players. No comparison. Roku is leaps and bounds faster and more reliable.
The "ONLY" wife friendly device for UK channels. I cut the cord 2 years ago. No broadcast TV means no adverts for the kids which is a great plus. It has turned into a bit of a hobby and I have just about every streaming device out there - nothing comes close to ROKU 3 - they are all gathering dust. My criteria were: UK specific, Wife Friendly, Kid friendly, Reliable - and suddenly in the last few months the UK content has started to arrive - thank you for saving my marriage ROKU :)

Best thing since sliced bread

Had the unit for a few months and love it. The audio jack on the hand set is brilliant too.
Pros: Fast; Flexible; Small; Lots of content; Various services give access to YouTube. Cons: Where is Crackle. The site says I have crackle but I don't see it. I see it on my Apple TV and PC.

Rather then buy a smart TV at this time, I elected to bridge the gap with Roku 3. This device has updated our technology allowing a new TV purchase to wait on better prices.
