The Perfect Substitute for Cable

Honestly, I had a lot of trouble with this product after set up, easily spending six to eight hours with Roku and Router technicians. The problem was "loading" or "buffering." I have an unusually long distance between the Router and the Roku and TV I'm using. That said, there is no way I would be without the Roku. It's so convenient and there is a wealth of programming. The images are sharp, the sound crisp, and I particularly like the idea of the ear buds jacked into the remote for private listening. Great product.

Great Product Improvement ... but ...

Ordered it a couple of month back. Really like the new way it buffers and does not interrupt play. Does not appear to produce 1080p. Could not get the earphones to work no matter what I did. I would recommend only for improved buffering and play. Don't get it for earphone use.

Fast and bullet proof

I've had this for about a month and it is the fastest media player/streamer I've used.
Replaced my Western Digital Live which kept crashing in Netflix and haven't looked back. Works beautifully with my Plex server, Netflix and Hulu Plus. Interface is fast, simple and elegant. Could not recommend this more highly.
Previously I've had WD Live (plays anything but streaming is dodgy), Samsung TV Apps (slow), Panasonic Bluray Apps (slow), Macmini HTPC (awesome but not simple for other family members). Remote with headphone jack is a stroke of genius. I rate this a 10/10. Thank you Roku for simplifying my entertainment setup.

One problem

This device occasionally resets itself and then will not allow viewing of any programs unless the power plug is removed and then reinserted.
