roku 3 is pretty sweet .. i have the google chrome too but the roku definitely wins out due to the speed and convenience and the remote provided by the roku..i like the usb plug in feature as well on the roku that your able to plug in and play movies off it.. way to go roku for such a cool device!!

I am migrating away from cable and found the Roku a very useful tool for "filling in the gaps." It would have been useful while still on cable but I wasn't motivated to search it out. I also got one for my girlfriends house.

Great streamer. Poor USB input

I bought this a month ago to replace a Boxeebox whose use was declining because of reduced support. NHL Gamecenter and Netflix are used daily in my house and the Roku 3 works well and with ease.
I have a number of ripped movies on a hard drive and the USB input on the Boxeebox played them with ease. On the Roku 3, I have been unable to get it to work. The Media Channel does not support many audio formats, so some movies work, but with no sound. So when we play movies we get up and and unplug the Roku and plug the Boxee back in.
Angry birds on the Roku 3 was fun for a day.
Overall: not unhappy, could be happier. Maybe I should have bought the cheaper models.

Best product for downloaded videos

I used to burn to disk everything I downloaded. It's expensive! Now, I just tranfer the videos to a portable hard drive and watch them. It is much easier and costs nothing.

Roku is very good player for TV. Its very fast and easy. It can search many channels and tv shows. Only the missing part i feel is youtube. if it can search for youtube it will be perfect and fantastic.

Since casting off from the degraded (and expensive) shores of Cable and Satellite TV format a few months ago I bought the Roku 3. In the realm of Streaming Media there are no commercials, news breaks, or weather updates that I didn't want to know about in the first place. Roku brings freedom from the always and forever monotonous merchandise squatters with metronomes in hand habitually coercing me to purchase a product(s) that is anethema to me from the start! Roku presents a great diversity of entertainment venues and each one different from the other! It is setting the bar for all that follow in the cult like following of the streaming media format! Roku gives you what I call " "The Essential Freedoms of All Entertainment" which are you get to watch, What you want.....When you want... and How you want ...and last but not least.. Where you want to watch! And friends it doesn't get better than that!
I would recommend this to a friend!
