We really like this product - there is a Roku on 3 of the 4 TVs in our home. When the Roku 3 came out I didn't think the earplugs connected to the remote control would be a feature I used - but I love this feature! Am able to listen to the audio of the program I'm watching no matter what the background noise is. The Roku company improves its products like it promises to. We feel able to upgrade the Rokus because they are reasonably priced and a great value. We also buy satellite TV service, primarily to watch sports, but look forward to the day when it's not necessary to pay satellite/cable TV prices to watch everything we want. It's likely that the Roku company will be on the cutting edge of the technology that allows it.

I bought my Roku 3 thinking that it might work as well as my Apple TV and hoping to be able to get some of our home movies to play through it. This thing has exceeded all my expectations in every way. It's faster and has a better picture than the Apple TV and it's way more open. I love all the "channels" you can add or remove. It also supports (completely!) Plex which I have running on my Synology NAS. I put my DVD collection and home movies into it and it shows up on the Roku. It also indexes all the metadata for anything it can find. Fan-friggin-tastic! This is how these things should work.
Apple TV is going to onto Craig's List.

Roku saves me 100 bucks a month that I used to spend on cable, and I don't miss anything that I used to watch with cable, I have it all and even more with Roku. So glad I took the jump and cut the cord to cable.

I've had my Roku 3 for 2 weeks now and I am very happy with it. I dumped my cable tv service and this is the perfect way to stream movies and tv programs.
