Easy to navigate and a smooth interface make the Roku a pleasure to use. The kids love being able to play game son the t.v. and the channel store offers a cornucopia of programming that makes me almost get rid of traditional television. Better apps for viewing my own content are still lacking as well as YouTube. Hey Roku, once you offer YouTube and an easier way for me to view my pics and videos with out having to upload them to a third party you'll be tops.

Super Fast

My dad bought this for us because we were using our Blu-Ray player to access Netflix, etc., and it was VERY slow. The Roku is wonderful! Super fast, navigating to channels and within channels is great, you can access games, and the remote works like a Wii remote!! Very fun and easy to use for my kids.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Features good - missing audio out

Faster processor than the first generation - no audio out (hdmi only or via remote). Nice compact unit - remote sometimes doesn't want to wake up, have to take battery out and reinstall

It's a great addition to any home entertainment experience and yet Roku 3 is not much better than its previous versions or the less expensive models. The video game feature is a wasteful addition. This is a great gadget to play streaming videos but almost worthless when it comes to games. If I could go back would most likely not upgrade from my Roku XD ...and if I really had to upgrade I would have purchased the Roku 1 and saved the extra money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just What I Was Looking For

I bought our Roku a couple of months ago as an alternative to paying to add DVR to our cable TV package. Set up was straight forward and easily done by following the instructions that came with the Roku. I have done a lot of research online since buying it to figure out how to maximize use and there are a multitude of great articles out there that give step-by-step instructions. We love our Roku, it has worked flawlessly. The only issue I have had is with the ABC network family's files not being in a format that Plex can play on the Roku, but that is neither Roku or Plex's fault.

Blows Apple Tv out of the water

This has probably been the best investment I have made in a long time. On many days that I find nothing to watch this is always my saving grace. I have never had an issue with it crashing I have had it since it came out and it is running as smooth as when I took it out of the box. The headphone option on the controller has saved me many nights of not having to move to another room =)
