I received the Roku3 about 4 weeks ago. The setup was easy and the user interface is very intuitive. I have used it every day so far.

We are delighted with our Roku 3. We listen to music almost 24 hours and use our Roku 3 to access Pandora. My husband watches many movies and streams from Netflix. The feature I love are the earphones which attach to the Roku remote. He can watch movies and I have the silence I love to read in the same room. I just wish I could steam TEDTalks using this device.

Goodbye cable tv

Cable tv was so expensive and there was nothing but junk on 24/7. This is way cheaper in the long run. No commercials and watch what you want. It would be nice to be able to stream live local news instead of a list of topics but with an old fashioned antenna you can get past this one shortcoming.

Awesome at almost everything

The Roku 3 is great: blazingly fast, compatible with just about any streaming service you can imagine, great app ecosystem, etc.
The two areas where I wish it could be better are:
- Playing local media (e.g. video files on a USB device). It currently supports very few native codecs, so one needs to use cumbersome solutions like installing Plex and streaming from a PC
- Network configurability. There's no way to set up gateway or DNS IPs, which is annoying

I don't subscribe to many services, they are all the same. So this unit is perfect for me. No buffering! Recommend for the basic-minded consumer.

Love the remote

I've had this for about six weeks and love it. Streaming works flawlessly, unlike the Sony product replaced with it. Having an earphone jack on the remote allows me to watch movies at my volume of choice without disturbing people in nearby apartments. It does seem to burn through battteries faster, so I use rechargeables.
