Awesome little player!

This is almost everything I'm looking for in a streaming player. The only thing that's missing is a Slingbox app to allow connection to a remote Slingbox wherever it is. Once this is added (hopefully soon), this will be perfect.

Skeptical No More

I was skeptical at first after reading some negative reviews but am now a believer. I'm starting to see that many negative reviews come from people who don't understand that this device won't just jump out of the box by itself and hook itself up. It also won't set up their user preferences, etc by itself either. Too many people want the impossible or just have unrealistic expectations. That being said, this was truly a great purchase for the price. We dumped satellite a year ago and went with over the air TV augmented by Netflix on my son's PS3. The PS3 started having issues with Netflix after an update to the PS3 a few months ago. As a result, I started looking for an alternative to stream video to our TV. After looking at all the reviews on streaming devices I decided on the Roku 3. I liked the idea of being able to plug in a memory stick in the USB port and the SD card slot for extra storage. I use the USB port to play video content I've pulled from the internet or DVDs I've burned to the stick. This feature works great. The amount of channels and options are amazing. Many require a subscription like Netflix, but the money I'm saving from not having a satellite subscription anymore frees up the funds for these other subscriptions. The video quality is amazingly crisp and sharp as well. Most content streams in 1080p which makes even old movies look great . The only thing I don't like is that you can't stream YouTube through this device, but I can live with that. Thus the 4 stars on content. As I stated earlier I've seen some skeptical reviews, but my experience hasn't been at all what they described. Buy one and you'll immediately see that this is a great product.

Far better than Visio Co-Star

I purchased the Roku 3 two months ago to replace a Visio Co-Star that I have had for about a year now. The Roku out performs the Co-Star in speed, Apps avail and ease of use, plus it ended the reboot / reset problems that the Co-Star had.

Nice Interface and sleek

After using Google TV for two years, I had a chance to use Roku 3 and so far my experience has been awesome. The UI is intuitive and all major apps are available. My only dissatisfaction is the lack of YouTube since its indispensable for TV. I am easily able to use PLEX to watch content from my PC on the TV.

Roku is the most flexible option for anyone who wants to get more out of their tv. This is a must-have. I could not recommend it enough.
