Will never live without one again

this thing is awesome. gone are the days of watching netflix on a computer or having to hook up a pc to my tv. with the roku, i can program it onto my universal logitech harmony remote and never have to leave my couch to switch between live tv and my roku. its perfect for netflix, hulu, amazon instant, and i even watch nhl out of market games on with the nhl gamecenter subscription. also use it when i have movies on a portable harddrive and can plug it right into the roku and watch them. you have to make sure it is the right file type, but if you google "rokoding" there are instructions on how to reformat files to view through the roku.

There is a pink wall that comes on once in a while that blocks the picture! saying that i am watching unauthorized program even thou i am paying for it. And it's on ALL the channels.

Works okay - streaming is a pain even though we're theoretically have the fastest TWC speed available in our area. So many programs require addtional funds.

Reduce your cable bill - So much to watch!!

My initial reason for getting a Roku was to reduce the amount of money I was paying each month to Comcast. 
After getting the Roku and getting a subscription to Netflix & Hulu Plus ($7.99 per month each) I dramatically reduced my cable package and am now saving $100 per month. There is so much to content to watch. There is something for everyone. 
The Roku works perfectly w/ my high speed internet.  No issues at all streaming content. 
I would recommend this to a friend!

So many channels!!

The Roku3 is my third Roku. Roku has perfected the streaming media box. It is fast, easy to use, tons of channels, and friendly user interface. I love the search feature. I can search for movie, TV, actor/actress, director, you name it, and Roku will show the results and how I can watch the show (Amazon, Netflix, Hulu+, etc.) It's awesome!!

Easy to use, could be faster

My wife and I are really enjoying our Roku after a few months of use. It has enabled us to "cut the cord" and only pay for Internet rather than cable. We could've done that before, but we were always having to hook the laptop up to the TV. That got old. 
The Roku is really intuitive and easy to use. We bought the Roku 3 because it was supposedly faster than previous versions and offered the headphone option (helpful when I'm working and my wife is watching TV).
For the most part we like it, but it does seem to freeze up relatively often during playback. Granted, that could partially be blamed on the Internet connection, but it does get frustrating at times. Also, the headphones sometimes skip. Again - could be an Internet problem. 
What's not an Internet problem is the lag when flipping between screens on the Roku interface. It would be nice to see it become a bit more responsive. 
All in all, it's a great device, and our complaints are only minor, but there is room for improvement, as with everything. A few notes: 
-I really love the mobile app for iOS and the ability to use this as a remote. 
-I would like to see an off switch on the remote. Some of the freeze/lag problems are likely due to the fact that the device has been on and running for long periods of time. The only way to power it down is to unplug the back.

Great features, Easy to Setup, Fantastic Wireless

Bought this a few months ago for our bedroom. I was afraid I was going to have to run a data line through the house,but the wireless on the Roku3 picks up my router with no problem.I would say 98% of the time, with an occasional signal drop, but very rare.
I would recommend this to a friend!
