Blazing Fast

I hard wired this to my FiOS home network and am amazed at how fast it loads movies. I've never seen a spinning circle due to latency and never expect to. Great interface - best user experience by far. Entire family is in love with Roku.

I usually do not review products..The Roku 3 is incredible....pair it with Amazon Instant Prime Video and throw away dish/cable

My second unit

I bought this as a second Roku3 unit. I like the increase in speed, power and features of the Roku3 over the previous models. I am a little disappointed in some of the features. For example, if you click on the Movie from the main menu, it presumably tells you what service offers that movie title. Since I have already subscribed to some streaming services, I was hoping it would display movies on those services. So far I have only been able to find movies that are on the services I am not subscribed to. This seems more like a marketing feature than a true user feature. I find this disappointing. But as far as the streaming capabilities of this unit are concerned I would give it an A+

My daughter had been urging me to get one of these gems, and I finally got around to it! I am so thankful that I did!
The setup takes a little time, but connecting the device couldn't be easier. If you don't have accounts with Netflex, Vudu, Hulu or other providers, you'll have to set those up. Have your laptop/tablet handy and save some time and effort.
The remote is worth the difference in the purchase price vis a vis other models. It comes with an earpiece option that is wonderful! Plus, Android (and maybe I-stuff?) has a Roku app to make your phone or tablet a remote for the device. What a wonderful option for those that occasionally 'misplace' their remotes!!
At this point, I am dropping my Blockbuster mailed discs account, which will save enough to pay for all the other services. Additionally, my Comcast expanded cable may be on shaky ground. I don't think that I need it with this baby running!
Finally, there are some Android apps that will run your media and online connection from your tablet or phone to a ROKU channel that you install. I use Twonky Beam, and it runs well. It is such a cool feature

For such a small piece of hardware, it does everything my PS3 does except play blu-ray movies, but I don't even buy movies anymore on disc, because the internet can deliver everything I need for a fraction of the cost of a bluray disc. If you get the Roku, make sure you download PLEX, it's the ultimate windows media server, and plays every codec ever. It's great, and I am glad that I found this!

We are very pleased with our ROKU. We have not had a lot of time to really get used to it yet but we have been watching the Agatha Christie series of Poirot and are enjoying it a lot. Thank you.
