BEST $100 Entertainment Value Around

ROKU-3 delivers SO much FREE entertainment...I feel like I'm stealing.
Couldn"t be happier !! My enthusiasm is SO infective its prompted several friends to buy their own. Can't believe the streaming is seamless with NO buffering. Lots of channels and even photo viewing. Sorry "info-mercial heavy" Direct-TV...but you are getting signifcantly down-graded in the near future...Thanks to my new Love Affair with ROKU-3 <3 <3 <3

Great Search, The Most Available Content, Best UI

I absolutely love the Roku. It is very user friendly and has a ton of available content. Installing it and setting it up was a snap. We have 3 of them in our house (1 on every TV). One of our TVs is a smart TV and our Blu-ray player has streaming apps; but we use a Roku device instead for 3 reasons; (1) content, content, content Roku has more available content than my smart TV and smart Blu-ray player combined! (2) SEARCH! This is BIG! Roku has a global search feature. It allows you to search from 1 location which will save you a ton of time and frustration. This 1 feature alone is worth the cost of a Roku. Without a Roku you would launch Netflix, spend time finding its search feature, discover that the movie was not on Netflix, exit Netflix and launch Hulu-Plus, spend time finding its search feature, discover that the movie was not on Hulu-Plus, exit Hulu-Plus and launch Amazon Video On Demand, spend time finding its search feature, discover that the movie was not on Amazon. With Roku search you press the dedicated search button on the remote, enter the movie name, and BAM it displays the services which have that movie, then you select the service (Amazon) and launch the movie!! (3) Since we have a Roku on every TV, the user interface is the same on all 3; instead of being frustrated using a different UI on each TV (I know that from experience).

Good quality graphics...A LOT of Redesign Needed

This has to have been designed by committee, or someone who loves Win-8 format. I don't. Navigation is unnecessarily clunky and has an overdone look to it.
I like the size, the ease of connection to a network and the fact that it can be hidden out of sight. I'm not 8, so the games aren't very appealing. This is a part of the trend to over-engineer streaming sites and devices. I don't want to be wowed by my browsing device...I want simplicity, reliability and speed.

I have 3 successive models of Roku, so you can surmise that I think highly of it. However, they stop playing every few minutes and have to be reloaded. Am considering trying Google or Apple products to compare reliability.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I have much more flexibility to watch the content that I am interested in than I did with Cable. Setup is extremely easy, no need to be a tech expert.

Super Device

Bought the Roku 3 because I was fed up with the garbage shows that Direct TV offers their subscribers. Since receipt of the Roku 3, I have cancelled the HBO package and are saving $50 a month. The variety of shows you can watch on Roku 3 far surpass anything offered by Direct TV.

My husband ought this for me on Mothers day of this year. Wechoose not to purchase cable or satellite. Roku ffers many of the same programs as cable. I can watch a movie when I want to watch it. I can pick and choose what will play at our house. So many options to choose from. I recommend it to anyone who wants to have movie choices without the high monthly bill.

I have been off the grid with Cable/Satellite for going on 3 years now! Using over the air TV and an older set top box (not Roku). I set the Roku 3 up with ease, and have it connecting to my "Plex Server" as one of the channels. Besides all the rich content on the Roku 3, I can access all my music, home videos, family pictures, and movies through Plex running on my Linux Server in my home office! Sweet setup!
