As someone who has recently cut the cord of cable television, this product is very good. It has an unbelievable amount of channels. Whatever content you want, there is a channel for you. My only problem with the channels is that it can't stream ESPN, because I like a lot of sports. I hope one day that ESPN will see that this is a new way to enlarge their subscription base.

This is my second ROKU and I love the earphones for programs that don't have captions. I get hooked on a series and spend too much time in front of the tv, but I've earned it! The Roku remote is the easiest one I have ever used, and I don't need reading glasses on to see it. one.upstairs in

Good, but limited Content

The Roku brings new content that previously was not available on my TV with interesting new channels like CNET, TWiT, etc. The downside for me was that channels like Time Warner Cable, PBS, etc limit their content and functionality on their Roku channel. I would have expected my full channel line up from my existing TWC subscription and on demand type options, but no TWC only offers live channels that see fit to offer. The game options are good with the motion sensitive remote and the Wi-fi operation allows the unit to be hidden out of sight. I also like the iOS app that allows your phone to be the remote allowing for much easier typing when searching for movies or content. It also allows channels to be managed directly from your phone. This unto replaced a second cable box, but would not be sufficient in replacing the main cable box , or overall cable subscription for me quite yet. Maybe in the year or so, providers like TWC will see the opportunity that set top boxes like the Roku offer them in new revenue streams and add content to their channel.

Bought it not really knowing a whole lot about it but im glad I did provide alot of movies and shows by its self but being able to use a SD card makes it that much more convenient its also small enough to carry with me or to diffrent rooms
although I'll probably just buy another for my other tvs

Excellent Alternative to Cable/Dish/Fios

I've owned the Roku boxes since their introduction. This new version is much better and faster. The layout is cleaner and easier to navigate. Compartmentalization makes it easier to use. When I called to cancel my Dish service I was offered a more than half discount to hang on for 6 months. The basic service of any of the cable providers is tooooo much. So if you are paying more than $17.00 a month drop them.

I bought this to provide my sons tv in his playroom with the ability to watch Netflix. this box has so much more to offer. He can stream PBS Kids, Disney shows, Hulu+ and even play Angry Birds. I have found the box so useful and great that I routinely move it from tv to tv in my house because it works so much better than my google tv interface does and offers me more options. I especially love how I can now easily use my Amazon Prime instant streaming on the tv. Definitely a must buy. I am considering getting 3 more and replacing my tv's with non-internet connected models and using this setup. I love this product go buy one or two or heck even 3. You wont regret it!
