Love My Roku!

I have had my Roku for about 4 months now. I am finding that I watch the Roku more than regular TV. I am now looking to get rid of my TV cable and go strictly to internet TV. We have an HD, 40" TV and everything looks great. I love my Roku!

Fantastic Speed and Good Channel Sellections

We bought a Roku3 to just "try it out", well, once you figure out how to use it...WOW!
As fast as my Dish 722 PVR, all the features are there, pause, fast forward and so on. Granted, you will (at this time) loose your access to HBO Go, H2, Discovery... in the process, but give HBO and others time to figure out how much to charge us and...pay VuDu for "access" to the most recently released shows.
Best part, Dish is $170 a month; Roku with Amazon, HULU and Netflix...$23 a month.

Cable subscription on a budget

Excellent device as a substitute for cable and U-verse subscription. I installed this unit on the back of our new flat screen. It works like a charm. Easy to navigate through selections. The Roku 3 has an input for headphones so that you can watch movies without having to bother your significant other, this feature alone comes in handy. Roku allows for us to watch entertainment on demand. Rather than having to wait for a particular time slot for a certain show. Overall, you wont regret purchasing this device. Its awesome!!!

Very Convenient

Works very well, connects to most of the channels I want, with the exception of Showtime Anytime and HBO GO, but I don't think that is Roku's fault. Love the remote and the ability to listen without bothering others. Complaints include not enough games to take advantage of the motion-sensing remote, and I wish it would turn off automatically when the TV is off.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Vastly improved over the previous model!

We own a Roku 2XD box (the previous generation) and were becoming highly dissatisfied with it (slow boot times, slow interface loading-particularly Hulu). We considered switching to Apple TV but it did not have the same broad variety of programming, and it included lots of apps that we just don't need.
SO....we took a chance and bought the new Roku 3.
In a word, it's INCREDIBLE. Much faster initial boot time, and very fast loading channels. The interface is visibly and functionally different. Give it a few days to adjust and you'll really like it.
COOL FEATURES: the remote is now radio-wireless instead of infrared wireless: You don't have to point it at the box to make it work. You can be facing the opposite direction and it's still going to work.
UNEXPECTED COOL FEATURE: you can plug a set of headphones into the remote, turn your TV volume down, and watch TV without disturbing others! There's a volume control on the remote and the sound is really decent. You can use earbuds (included) or any headphone with a sub-mini plug (the size used on smart phones).
WiFi reception is better (at least in our house) than the previous model, and that annoying freeze-frame and/or pixilation problem that became common with our previous Roku disappeared.
BOTTOM LINE: BUY IT.

Great improvements

We upgraded to the Roku 3 and memory chip a couple of months ago. We immediately saw an improvement in HD streaming with very little buffering. The close captioning feature is extremely useful.
