I will be totally honest.  I wanted to buy an Apple TV 3, because there are so many good reviews about that product that, even not being an Apple person, I said to myself: "well, let's give it a try".  Luckily, I decided to buy a Roku 3 at the same time so I could compare both of them. At the end, since we have two TVs at home, I would need both products in order to watch Netflix on both TVs.  What do I have to say?  Roku 3 ROCKS BIG TIME!  (Apple TV 3 SUCKS big time, too... At least when using Netflix).  I have 15Mbps at home and that's more than enough for watching HD content.  In fact, from my Roku 3 it works perfectly.  Streaming via Netflix on my Roku 3 starts with Standard Definition and it quickly ramps up to HD in less than 25 seconds.  When  I try to watch Netflix on my Apple TV 3, it starts in HD right away, but after 5 seconds it goes down to SD, and stays so there for the whole movie.  So I am totally regretful for having bought the Apple TV 3.  I would've preferred to buy two Roku 3s.  No doubt about it.
Also, the headphones jack in the remote is a killer feature.  It's perfect for watching Netflix at night without disturbing my wife.  What else can I ask?  Well, I forgot: my son can play angry birds using the remote control, too.
Hey, you've built a very good product!  I'm enjoying it a lot.
What I would like to see in the Roku 3?  Youtube channel.  I can watch Youtube on the Roku 3, from my Android phone using Twonky Beam, but it would be nice to have a Youtube channel right on the Roku 3 menu.
Way to go!

Lots of Content

I've had this for over a month now. I was hoping to cancel my cable but this is not a cable replacement. It does require a credit card to register it as there is a rental fee for some of the movies. It does give you access to free movie sites but all the movies are really old releases or B movies. It's very convenient for those who rent movies regularly, Netflix, Red Box etc. all there on your t.v. to rent from and some sites I have never heard of. Free movie sites like Crackle, Popcorn Flix etc. (movies are not commercial free) You can customize the icons on your screen. Most you have to register for but it's a one time process. Angry Birds keeps the grand-kids entertained when they visit. So far as I can tell the t.v. sites you can add like Syfy channel, FoxNow etc. only show clips not full versions of their shows. PBS requires an email address to access their channel.

Easy to set up, easy to use, great user interface, and with channels being added constantly, the Roku 3's value will only increase over time.

I'm finding it a bit difficult to get my photos, movies etc to my Roku.   The set-up process could be improved. n

I purchased my Roku a little over a month ago. It was by far the easiest piece of electronic equipment to set up. There are many channels to choose from and you can always find something to watch! If I could give this 10 starts I would!

So happy with my new Roku.  It's a new MVP in my home theater.
This is essentially what I wished "Boxee" could be.  I loved Boxee, but the interface was clunky and buggy.  Roku 3's interface is fluid and very responsive.
There are more channels than I need, so no shortage of content.
I went with the 3 because of the RJ45 jack, mostly.  The remote audio jack is a clever bit but I prefer to use my receiver for headphones still.

I got my Roku 3 at Costco about a month ago.  I wanted to watch Amazon Prime free movies/TV shows, and have watched a few already.  It was a good buy, and I will eventually watch other channels too.  I would recommend it to friends and family.
