Good Device

Is good but it will be better with more live channels. I bought the Roku to cut off cable but I realize that alot of the channels that I want needs cable or satelite connection. It will be a better device if a can watch live tv without the need of cable or satellite

Almost everything I need in a media player

I bought this device several months ago. So far, I love it! I has all of the major apps that I enjoy. Plus a lot of smaller companies' apps. I use this device mostly for Netflix, Hulu Plus, and now that M-Go has a partnership with UltraViolet, that as well. It also has the many anime companies that I love to watch online, (with the exception of Neon Alley). CrunchyRoll has a great app, and Funimation's app works.... (they are still working on theirs).
I have a media center PC in the living room with XBMC a HDHR-Prime, and Windows Media Center. I still use it to watch live Television, becaue the only way to do this on the Roku that is available to me right now, is to run a Ruby server. Several people have gotten this to work well for them, but I am not a web programmer..... Hopefully Aereo will make it's way to my area soon.
For my local content, Plex is also a great experience. I haven't had much trouble at all with the Plex app. Most of the trouble that I HAVE had, came from my PC.
The only thing missing, is a GREAT youtube app. If Roku were able to work something out for that, I can imagine it would be a much better interfface than what is available now.

so much entertainment

I bought roku years ago, loved it then upgraded to the faster roku 3, cable was gone years ago with an indoor antenna for local stations and roku for music, movies, hockey, mlb and tv! I love it, glad I took a chance!

Worth every penny

I had the original Roku player but could not watch PBS app and my remote was getting sketchy after 5+years of constant use. I was not excited about spending $100 but the upgrade was worth every penny. Shows load 100x faster than before, never buffer and I love the 10 second rewind feature. Yahoo Roku!

I bought this for my son for Christmas. I purchased one for myself a few months ago. I enjoy this product, I can get all the things I want to see and hear. I have had many hours of enjoyment with the Roku 3. So I am giving them away for the holidays.

Our family recently tried Roku and within a week bought a second Roku. We had previously used AppleTV as our digital TV and Movie device. We find that the Roku offers so many more options and is very user friendly. Ihighly recommend Roku.

1st. Mr. Edison & Mr. Bell got entertainment on the right track. Now fast forward to the HD Digital Era. The World's Friendliest Streaming Devise Creator has brought entertainment to the living room the way the way it should have always been, as in "Free". I own a Roku 2 & a Roku 3 and the products far deliver more than they promise. If your looking for an economical way to cut back on your Cable Bill, or if you just want some really good entertainment than you must stop what your doing right now and go, no rush to the nearest store near you and get a Roku. Give up Starbucks for a few weeks and save up and buy a Roku you will be glad you did!
The Local TV Stations & The Cable TV Folks are good people, but they can't match Roku for Value. Oh and should you ever need customer support or Tech advice (which is very doubtful) Roku wrote the book on customer satisfaction!

it gets hot when let on

it gets HOT when left plugged into the electrical outlet, it cuts off in the middle of a live show at times. then i go to my computer and have to finish the live show there .its not on the same time as a live show on pc. but i would not go back to cable either i just deal with this i am for saving money in the long run - if you dont watch tv all day long the roku will do ok.
