easy to install and many channels to choose from

Roku 3 - Impressive

I got the Roku to add Amazon Prime (and others) to our Family Room watching. I have one of the first Samsung Smart TV's, but Amazon Prime is so slow, that the wait times are painful. The Roku 3 has exceeded my expectations. It's fast, it's clear and I can truly watch just about anything. Well worth the purchase price.

Super Little Box!

I bought the Roku after reading many reviews online. I hooked it up in minutes and was very impressed with the speed of the Netflix download and the stunning HD picture. The control is fabulous and very simple to use. I considered less expensive alternatives but at less than $100, (I actually paid about $120 including HDMI cable which is NOT included) this little box is well worth the money. I will probably purchase more Rokus for my tvs that don't have cable boxes. Only downside is the lack of an HDMI cable that has to be purchased separately. I have already given one to a friend for Christmas...with a cable!

I had a bluray player with video streaming and apps but it does not compare to the way this roku works. I also love that it comes with headphones that plug into the remote for late night watching without disturbing anyone trying to sleep.

Doesn't deliver as promised

The quality of picture and selection of channels is great. However, even with the high bandwidth LAN and Internet access from Time-Warner, the picture freezes from time to time and sometimes the audio stops. Sometime I can't even access the network through Roku when everything else attached to the Internet in my home works great.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Almost perfect!

The Roku HD is almost a perfect addition to our family. However the only thing I do not like about it is that there is nothing to keep kids from seeing any Adult channels. Though many of the adult channels do change their name and have their own passwords to access. So just be careful to read about the channels you choose before adding. Also another complaint which really has nothing to do with Roku! It is how fast the costs of ordering channels can add up. Can quickly add up so make sure your kids have some restrictions on what they order.

A friend suggested I try the Roku since I'm wanting to cut my cable bill. The Roku 3 is very easy to set up and get going in about 30 minutes or less. Lots of available apps to choose from for content. One thing I'm a little disipointed in, and this is in now way related to the device, is that most of the content is only available at a fee. Some has a monthly fee others a fee for each item you watch. I guess I was hoping for less cost but understand they have to cover their cost's somehow. Overall very happy with the device.
