My Roku is the best thing since sliced bread. I love being able to chose what I want to watch when I want to watch it. No more DVD's piling up. Just search and click. I don't miss Dish, Direct TV, or cable one bit. NO MORE USELESS INFOMERCIALS THAT I HAVE TO PAY FOR AND DON'T WANT.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Features but slightly slow app loading times

I love the Roku. It allows me to watch all sorts of stuff on my TV without ads or having to watch 500+ channels of nothing!

Bought my 3rd Roku 3 Player!

Bought this for my daughter for Christmas. Already have two in my house both hooked up to my Plex Media Server and Netflix. Roku 3 has many channels to choose from and very easy to setup. Also the performance is excellent as they provide both WiFi and wired connections to my home network. The response is excellent navigating through the menus and channels.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Solid player, limited interface

I liked a lot about the Roku 3, but I ended up returning it. The interface is limited to the point that developers cannot do much with their designs. For example, the Plex client, while very functional, is a very gimped-feeling shadow of its potential. The full plex client on other platforms is a beautiful thing. on the Roku it feels like you're using something far less mature. Plex being my primary use for a streaming device means that the Roku3 was just not very useful for me.

I cut cable about 4 months ago, and the Roku has been my savior as to a multimedia distribution device. Set up a Plex server (Plex is free and probably the most valuable channel one can add to Roku) and have not looked back at ever subscribing to a TV service again. My only regret is buying at retail price of $99 after Amazon reduced the price for Roku 3 (not to mention Roku.com to $10-$12 less a week later). I probably should've even gone the route of Roku 2, since the gaming feature is not something I will ever use in the future on this device. But overall, a great product. Let's keep expanding the channels Roku. Fight against AppleTV and make your product stand out (even more).
