This is a fantastic little device, and the recent updates, including the updated Netflix and ESPN, have been excellent. With that said, there are a few issues here and there but they are more focused on the App developers than the Roku platform. I'm knocking off one star because it isn't quite perfect yet. HBO Go remains inaccessible through Comcast, numerous apps remain outdated (though this isn't Roku's fault, it does effect overall quality), no Frame Packing support for 3D, USB direct-play from external hard drives is lacking, the addition of M-Go makes it feel less format neutral, there is no native YouTube app available (though there are unofficial methods to accessing it, Chromecast style), and the audio jack in my controller has stopped working. That seems like a pretty substantial list, but it really isn't. The device easily gets more right than wrong: The video quality is excellent, it supports 7.1 audio (something surprisingly rare still), the open platform means it supports pretty much every major platform outside of those that purposefully closed themselves off (Apple, Google, Microsoft), Plex, the RF remote controller means you can use it with Wireless HDMI in every room, or just use the excellent phone remote, IR support means you can also use it with universal remotes, Twonky, it is tremendously easy to use, the Search function is utterly fantastic, App and System updates are largely seamless. My biggest complaint for a long time was the outdated Netflix app, this has since been mitigated and the app is now visually appealing and features Post-Play (auto play) which I love. Performance is solid as well and seems to improve with the system updates. Overall, I highly recommend the Roku 3, it is, in my opinion, the most complete streaming device in its class.

I bought this hoping it could replace cable, that does not work out for me but I love all the channels it offers especially acorn.

It best feature is its biggest problem

I own a Roku 2 and we bought the 3 to get the remote audio feature, which worked great until the switch on the remote physically failed with in the first 1 month. With out that feature there is very little difference between this and the 2.

Purchased about 3 months ago, instead of buying yet another Smart TV. For less than $100, the ROKU installs quickly and painlessly, has a very large number of choices. I have 2 Smart TV's and a Chromecast, plus a Wii, Roku is faster and simpler to use, with installation being a snap. Only suggestion, small hook built into the base, so it could be hung on the back side of the TV, out of sight of grandkids and cats.

This is my first Roku, and I have to say that it is very cool. Easy to set up, easy to use... still a bit of a mystery to find the right channels... I am a rugby fan in the US, so finding something I can stream on the Roku has been hard. Great product though, very small and compact.
