Great features on remote, including earphone jack

Cons:
No off button, must unplug power
No mute on remote
Can't skip commercials
Rentals pricy
Forced to setup credit card, no free account
Can't exclude certain genres
Not able to setup age appropriate users & settings

Keeps getting Better

Tis is my 2nd Roku. I gave my Roku2 to my son & family to check out available programing. I picked up the latest 3 version & am glad I did, just for the dual streaming feature, but also the plethora of available programming that grows by the day. Only plae I can watch Sky.FM News

I bought the Roku 3 a few months ago and my family is very pleased that I did. We do not have cable TV and It has added a lot of variety to our movie viewing.

Disappointing new release.

A few weeks ago I would have given it 5 stars. I had the first version of a Roku and was satisfied but I liked the speed and look of the device, as well as some of the more advanced features (earphones, subtitles, better menu).  After the new release in November, the value was diminished by the faulty features in Netflix of the new release. Three of the problems I have are: 1. Automatic start of next episode in a series and the inability to turn it off. 2. The shrinking of the credits (some shows actually have content after the credits). 3. Removal of start from beginning feature.
I understand that these are issues from Netflix, however that is my main reason for using this device. I certainly hope they fixed in the near future.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Strong and Simple

Being an overly techie kind of person, I was considering the idea of a home theater computer so we could cut the DirecTV cord...  But the I wanted something that the wife would be able to use.  The Roku has everything that I wanted as far as features, but is also extremely easy to use.  
After having the first one for 5 months, there are several more under the tree.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I'm happy with everything about it except for the memory card. There's almost no information about the expansion card in the literature or on the web. However, everything else about the Roku 3 is fantastic.

Absolutely love my ROKU 3. I completely dropped my cable and now only pay a little over $20.00 for Netflix & Hulu Plus. There are lots of free channels, you can also buy/subscribe to many other channels apps, and games too. And you can download ROKU app and use your smartphone as remote ! It's the future of tv and getting rid of the expensive cable bills.
