I love being able to choose what I want to watch when I want without all the subscriptions. I do have an issue where the sound goes off, it takes shutting off the tv and unit to stop it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had heard of a Roku years ago but never understood what they were. Sam's Club had them on display and I took the plunge. I LOVE it! I love so many free choices for me, my grandchildren, husband and children! I also have a subscription to Netflex and Amazon Prime, so easy to use on Roku and you offer so many option channels.

I've had this a few months now. My tv supports most of the services I use natively but was occasionally buffering or dropping to lower quality streams, not to mention the apps don't receive updates anymore. I haven't had any of these issues with the roku. The apps are nicer. It supports much more than my tv does and they are constantly adding new features.
My main gripe, and why I docked a star, is the lack of youtube support. Why roku won't add a good youtube channel is beyond me. Also, there is no power off feature. I find myself unplugging it after each use to save power and ensure it's not unnecessarily transferring data across the network.
One more thing. When you run the initial setup, the roku requires a credit card. It leads you to believe you cannot use it without a credit card on file. I called customer support and they activated my account without a credit card no problem. However, this should be unnecessary. A new user should be able to setup their new roku account without a credit card if they choose, without having to call customer support to do it for them.

Everything is well and good but it doesn't have any audio output ports. I would like to connect Roku to my audio system. I would really like to see a fiber optic port in the next version of Roku.

More than I anticipated. The only thing I can think of to make it better would be timely clips of local news.

I have owned several Roku's and love them all. I also have a smart TV which doesn't even come close to the smoothness and intuitiveness of the Roku. The only thing is I did not feel my upgrade cost to the Roku 3 was worth it. If you are on an older or low model then it will be.

My wife gave me a ROKU 3 Player for my birthday. With the earphones that plug into the remote, I can now enjoy late night TV in our bedroom without disturbing her. Actually, I don't think I've watched cable TV since I hooked this thing up - it's awesome!

I found the hardware installation of this device to be extremely simple. I have a wireless network and the ROKU was accepted immediately. Just attach an HDMI cable between the TV and ROKU; then the power cable from the ROKU to an outlet and you're in business. The configuration from the remote is well-guided and easy to follow. I would and have recommended this ROKU to friends and relatives.
