I bought this over six months ago and love it. I understand the available shows are even better in the U.S. and will be taking it to Florida with me for the winter. The simplified remote works flawlessly and I believe that the cable company could take a lesson from Roku.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very happy with Roku

We bought our Roku 3 last April when they first came out and are very happy with it. We were spending every month for satellite about what it costs us annually for the services we order on our Roku. Very user friendly, even for people like us in our 60's.

Have both a Roku 3 and Apple TV. Both work well; Roku has some applications (like Amazon prime) that apple tv lacks.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice features and reliable

The 1st gen Roku I had crashed all the time. This new Roku 3 is much more reliable. It also has a lot of cool features, you can play games on it via the motion sensing remote, and it has tons of channels (admittedly though, many are no good). The ability to play video, audio, and picture slideshows via the USB port is a great feature too.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have basically nothing bad to say about the Roku. I love the simplicity of the device, the features, and the simple remote. It's definitely best in class among set top internet video devices.

Inability to change DNS settings is a deal breaker

I've had this device for quite some time as a replacement for my jailbroken AppleTV's Plex client.. Works much better on the Roku than on the Apple TV; HOWEVER, the inability to change the DNS setting on the device makes it otherwise lacklustre. If they removed that restriction it would easily be the centre of my entertainment setup.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
