This is my second Roku.
(first one is many years old)
And is by far the best yet.
If you want a fast, clear and
simple product, that gives you more choices in channels then about anything out there, This is it. .
If you don't have one of these, You are missing the boat!

You must be kidding with the M-go service. You seriously expect us to pay a premium price for slightly newer shows/movies? Never will I do so.
WHY IS THERE STILL NO YOUTUBE??

I.bought the Roku 3 because I had hear about all the different movie you could see. I found out that you had to pay for everything and the few free program that is available they keep dropping the program. If you don't have cable this is a good buy.

Good Roku, Bad remote

I've had the Roku 3 for a few months now.  Mainly for Netflix, though I do enjoy some games and a few other channels.  Most of the channels are garbage, unless you use the pay/premium channels.
The unit runs hot, so don't put it on any other equipment (like cable box or receiver.)  Also a disappointment was when I hooked it up to my modem via ethernet cable, it did nothing.  So, I was forced to use the wifi, whatever.
My major complaint is the remote.  It's almost the best remote I've used (wifi controls no matter where you point it, nice sensitive controls, good layout.) BUT, it eats batteries like nothing else (two AA's.)  After going through 6 batteries in the first two days of heavy use (5-7 hours each day,) I ended up using rechargeable batteries.  I still replace them about every other day, but at least I'm not buying new ones that often.  Keep in mind that rechargeables only last around 100 charges, so I count on replacing them a couple times a year.  Although it's way cheaper than regular batteries, it's still an added expense I don't appreciate.
After talking with tech support several times, I was first told this battery life is usual.  Especially if you game frequently.  Not to mention EVERY TIME YOU MOVE THE REMOTE, IT TURNS ON!!  They suggested I lay it face-down on a table when not in use.
They also discouraged me using rechargeable batteries, citing an issue with the onscreen battery/charge notification.  Basically, even when fully charged, the indicator shows almost depleted.  I just keep on using it until it expires by itself, ignoring the indicator.
IMO, this is an blaring flaw in the remote.  I've never owned anything that went through batteries since my first digital camera.
They site no update or answer to fix this issue.  What do they care, seems no one even mentions it in any reviews, in fact, this review will probably buried so no one will read it either.

Bought this Roku 3 about 2 months ago...runs off wireless router and I have Shaw hi-speed internet (7mbs). Streams HD perfectly with no buffer time and the sound is good. Lots of channels to choose from. Many free. So far I am quite happy with Roku.

It works great for most things, it needs a better media player from usb some of my movies/shows don't have sound or video and VLC has no problem playing them so I am guessing we are missing certain codecs on the Roku Box.
Another thing that would be nice is if you could run 2 things at once, like facebook and listen to pandora at the same time. Also it would be nice and maybe you can do this but I don't think we can, if you want to change any settings you have to back out of whatever app you are using. it would be nice if you could press a button and the settings menu would come up over whatever app you are using so you could stay where you are.
Also an sdcard port would be great, a usb is nice but I don't like things sticking out of it I would rather put a sdcard in it.
I use it for amazon prime video, netflix, watching things from my ipad sometimes that works pretty good, also watch some of the other free channels for video or upcoming movies. I play some games on it but the controls aren't great for games. I would like to see emulators on there if you can't already put them on there or at least super mario would work good with the controller.
