New television options

First saw Roku in a remote Alaskan town. What a revolution in watching television. I wanted to give one to my husband in Seattle for Christmas but couldn't wait. In October we bought one. I like the choice of what I want to watch, freeze when the phone rings and no (or few) commercials. Since then two of my friends have left my house on their way to buy their own Roku.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great For Premium Streamers!

Had this for a few months now, and it works great. A few things I didnt like. It has no youtube and no web browser to navigate the web. The search is time consuming since it has no keyboard. Over all its a good streamer,but mainly for premium channels that you have to pay for. It does have some free channels but they have mostly older content.
I would recommend this to a friend!

My TV in a small box

I love my Roku, it's small but it does an amazing job. It offers channels most people want and always adding more. Most of the major channel apps are always approving their channel. Roku is also approving its function and what it offers. Around the different holidays Roku offers programming/music geared to that holiday. I don't care for the ear phones i don't like the sound but it's definitely nice to have when it's late. Roku 3 I love the look, I like the fact that I can hide it on the back of my television and I can use the remote in a totally different room if I walked away and forgot to pause it.
If you can't afford paid tv or want to save money by doing away with paid tv Roku is your best bet.

Woeful

The only useful app on this thing in my region is plex, and even that requires legacy transcoding to run. Within a week of getting the device .. netflix was nerfed (Fun police arrived). I expected a device that I could use and configure, rather than something that boxes me in. Lucky the WDTV live still runs nice.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Annoying that it drops the transmission

I have been watching my ROKU for about 6 months. I like the capability to watch movies and TV shows (not the delay in broadcasting new seasons though). I do not like having to pay each month for HULUPLUS and Netflix after having paid for the ROKU box and then have to watch commercials to boot! I find it irritating that while I am watching a movie I get a message that there is some kind of interference and to try again later. This happens at least once a night. I have to unplug the ROKU box and start from the beginning to get back to my movie.

Remote failure

I have purchased 4 Roku devices and this was my first experienced problem. After discussing this issue with a Roku tech, this problem was resolved completely to my satisfaction. This company apparently still realizes customer service/satisfaction is a top priority. Many companies seem to forget you once they obtain your hard earned cash, not Roku.

Streaming Made Simple

Our first foray into streaming and we were up and running in minutes. Very easy to set up, clear instructions, no hassles. It found our wireless router, we entered our password and the online keycode and we were there.
We REALLY LIKE that it has the PBS channel. Video quality is excellent. A great product.
