Great value for any movie buff!

Youngest brother convinced me I would enjoy the vast variety of available movies. He was right! It's a great resource for anyone with an interest in recent releases as well as old standards! Television series I've missed also make excellent entertainment. Roku is great for "binge watching" multiple shows in a series at one setting.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great little guy

Have been using for a month or two and overall it's great.
Con: the first 30sec or so of videos are almost always fuzzy before clarity kicks in. Presumably this is cuz the initial stream is lower quality. I've got 30Mbit FIOS so unless they're throttling, I'm not sure why this would be. No problem for a movie, but if watching 2-min clips it's noticeable.
Con: the iOS app is just OK. Mostly it's great for using the keyboard. But there's no way to start a search from the app - you have to do that from the roku remote control. A minor issue but an odd oversight on the developers' part.
Con: I'd like a mode to browse through channels as a text list, skipping by a full page at a time. The icons take up too much space for fast browsing.
Con: Was really disappointed that Hulu Plus has ads even though it's a fee-based service. I know that's not Roku's fault, but it's a drag. Are there TV-show channels available that are paid and don't have ads?
Suggestion: do whatever you can to get HBOGo for the device! I'm sure it's a licensing issue, but would be great to have it.

got rid of cable--this isn't a replacement of that but it sure helps. VERY easy to use and fabulous for ESPN (I have cable at another location)

Very good, but No Digital Audio Out, Power Button

At first I thought no Youtube was a big problem. Still is but, "Twonky/Beam It" provides a workaround from phone and/or tablet. Not sure if I'll keep it without having Digital Audio out to my [older] receiver. I would hate to lose the really cool and included audio off the remote though. Hmmm! Decisions, decisions.

More than thrilled with this model. Who needs expensive cable rates that usually go up and usually the movie line ups are repeats on various other stations? Installation is quick and easy. I even use it to babysit my prrot while I'm away. Pure entertainment. they way television should be. Thank You for making such a fine product. Too bad it wasn't available 5 yrs ago, I could have saved thousands by now!
