As soon as my contract is up with Dish I will be saying bye bye to cable TV. The Roku 3 is incredible. It is more than expected!

Easy Setup and Controls

Our Roku 3 was easy right out of the box. The only difficulty was that it hung up between two of the setup steps -- when I called customer service (2 min wait) they informed me that this problem often developed and that the solution was to unplug the unit for a few seconds then plug it back in. That solution worked perfectly. If that is a common problem, it could be included in the written instructions and save CS some time.

Makes Internet-based TV easy!

My husband and I purchased the Roku 3 approximately 3 months ago, and we have used it almost daily since then. We no longer have to connect a laptop to the television for Internet TV. We like several of the pre-loaded channels, and so far we've only subscribed to HuluPlus--very inexpensive. We get to watch all of the shows we want to see when it is convenient for us, and my daughter loves the Angry Birds game that came pre-loaded on our device. Another great part is the remote control because you do not have to point it in a specific direction to use it. We definitely recommend the Roku 3.

Simple to use and wide range of features

We've owned a Roku 3 for about a month. Setup was smooth, just plug in and follow the 'on-screen' instructions. There appears to be and endless variety of Netflicks TV shows and movies to watch without commercials, allbeit, the TV series are not all up to date and the movies premiered some months ago. There are many unique apps depending upon your interest, for example, the National Film Board library. Plex is wonderful to access our own video and photo library directly from our computer, no wires.
If there a source for streaming current CBC newscasts, we'd cancel our cable TV subscription.

Great Connectivity

I bought this for my living room plasma TV at the same time I bought a "smart" TV for my bedroom. The Roku has performed almost perfectly, except for one time I got the dreaded screen other reviewers refer to. I just restarted and everything worked fine for about two months now. Not so with the "smart" tv. It constantly drops the connection, Wifi is almost impossible., and even wired internet with manual IP address still rebuffers at least 3 times in one show. I wish I had bought a cheaper TV and another Roku. Dumb TV and smart Roku that's the way to go.

Awsome gadget

I have my Roku 3 for a couple of weeks ony, but after setting up in a challenging network infrastructure this tiny little little awesome thing "conquered" right on the top of my multi media home installation. Not only it beats all other devices in the number and variety of channels, it also has way better WiFi performance for streaming, compared with my TV, Blueray Disc plauer, laptops (Apple, Lenovo) and even Apple TV!
Now, that I "run Roku", this is my first choice everyday. Only in case I like to watch "ordinary" TV I switch back from the HDMI connected Roku into the TV channels. Magic.
