Great way to access streaming video content!

I bought a Roku 3 about a month ago... trying to break free of the cable company's content limitations ... and sluggish cable box and DVR performance... in combination with a higher bandwidth of internet service (10-20 Mbps down), our cable costs went down about $30 per month net, and we have discovered a bunch of interesting content, including a very nice way to access our Netflix subscription content on our main television through the Roku as well as HuluPlus and PBS.
The Roku 3 is fast... content buffers quickly, and is easy to pause and restart. The Roklu 3 has a nice user interface.
My kids (3 boys... 11, 9 & 8...) are discovering Dr. Who and starting to forget all of the somewhat mindless Cartoon Network content they were hooked on (Uncle Grandpa, Regular Show, Adventure Time, etc.)...
I have had no issues after several weeks of use. I might have taken the Roku with us on a recent 2 week vacation... it is compact. I took a Chromecast with us instead and it allowed us to access Netflix and Hulu+ content at our hotels, but the Chromecast is limited to streaming applications that are available for it. (YouTube, Netflix & Hulu...) The Chromecast (and Roku would have as well) interfaced with the video system in the van that we rented for our trip, but limitations on cellular bandwidth to 3G during our travels prevented us from being able to stream video while driving.
The Roku puts several hundred streaming sources at your fingertips. For local news, I use an antenna... we live in a major metropolitan area and get about 10 local broadcast stations including a weather station.

Great Product

I bought my Roku 3 about a month ago once I discovered it while looking for a Blu-Ray player. So far I've been very pleased. It works as advertised. Previously I got movies from Blockbuster via snail mail. Now with Roku II never have the problem of a damaged or incompatible disc. And I don't don't have to wait for a disc to arrive in the mail Since I have an Amazon Prime subscription I've watched a number of movies and programs at no cost.

We bought this as my husband will be soon retiring. We are cutting our budget and getting rid of dishnetwork. It is too expensive for us to handle. We always dvr our shows anyway and never watch them on the night they are broadcast. So the Roku will allow us to watch our shows anyway. My husband just wishes he would have live sports and I wish QVC was on there! =)

We've had our Roku for a month now and I'm very pleased. We're saving $20+ each month compared to our cable bill, and if we didn't have this obsession with TV shows that can only be seen via subscription services, we'd be saving even more.

I bought my Roku 3 about a month ago and I find that a watch regular cable/Network TV less and less. It is such a great way to enjoy my Netflix and Hulu accounts. Honestly I can't imagine enjoying them any other way. From the easy to use navigation to the quality video streaming, I'm seriously considering giving up my cable account!
