problem setup

The problems with setup was difficult to figure out. The unit would not connect to an external HDD or thumb drive. I could not get the unit to stream music from my computer.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

For the money, this is the best electronics product I acquired in years. The unit is ridiculously easy to set up. I was up and streaming within the hour.

Good value for the money!

We found Roku3 to be a great solution for us. We were frustrated with Satellite service because of the amount of commercials we had to sit through. We have purchased 3 Roku3's. Now we view the series or movies we choose, commercial free. No more "appointment TV" where you have to conform to the satellite's schedules. The only problem we've found is that we were into the series "Saving Grace" and now find that Netflix has pulled it, before we have watched the entire series! "The Big C" was also recommended to us, however, we find that it has also been pulled. Also, with the newer Netflix format, you can't read the synopsis of the upcoming episode before it's loaded. What's with that Roku???

I do like this device. We do not own a smart tv so it allows us to stream my amazon prime on to the large tv instead of watching on our laptop or iPad. However, I do not like the fact you cannot turn it off, we have a wireless router with limited device access so I turn the roku off when we're not using it.

So easy t set up; I didn't even curse once. Why are any remotes still made which do not use radio to transmit signal.

I love the Roku 3. It is super quick and has an immense selection of channels to choose from.
The feature I wish it had was YouTube.

A very good piece of device

I have been using Roku 3 for half a year, I like it a lot. It is reliable and stable. Only yesterday I had problem when I tried to do a factory reset: it's frozen on the select language screen. A very simple solution to this problem after I talked to the technical support. What you need to do is a hold remote reset button for 5 seconds. DONE!
Cons: They are not exact cons. I would rather say my wishes:
1) More channels for people living in Canada.
2) Add a channel for web browser.
