I have had the Roku 3 for about 2 months.  In that time:
- it has locked up 2 times, but you just have to unplug it and plug it back in.  
- Otherwise it is very fast, not laggy at all.
- there are a lot of channels, but 99% are fluff.
- No youtube channel, which is my biggest dislike, and what almost pushed me towards an Apple TV 3 (however my dislike of itunes pushed me back!)
- Netflix works great, but the layout needs updating.  Can't use different profiles or access kids netflix like on xbox
- Setup is very easy and quick
- Biggest pro is the Plex app for me.  I set up a plex server on my laptop, setup links to my movie, pics and music folders, and I can very smoothly access them with the Roku.  This is for me hands down the best feature, and why I give it 4 stars.
All they have to do is update the netflix app and get a youtube app, and I will very happily give 5 stars.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I purchased the Roku due to my home theater not having WiFi .  I did not know anything about it until I spoke to someone at Best Buy and he stated to get one.  I bought it and glad I did.  I like Netflix but what was really nice for me was Fox news and Skynews which are free.  That is what sold me on it and I like it.  The ability for the Roku to pick up the WiFi signal is really good.  The only reason why I did not put "excellent" is because I have had one issue with the remote.  It just stopped worked.  I had to take the batteries out of the remote, unplug the Roku, replace the batteries, push the remote reset button to get it to work.  It has been working fine after that.
I would recommend this to a friend!

What I've been waiting for!

Before I bought our Roku 3 I had tried many different ways to get the content we wanted from our the web and our pc onto our TV. Other methods worked but the interface was either clunky, slow or both. And none of them were what I would call "wife friendly". The Roku 3 brings it all together in a slick, fast, easy to use interface. I was surprised by the number of channels available and since cutting the cord several years ago, for the first time I'm actually not just satisfied with my viewing choices, I'm overwhelmed. This is something you will show off to your friends and family.

Best Purchase One Could Make!

I had a DVR for years, but due to financial reasons I went back to my original cable box. Sure, OnDemand is nice BUT I am a Amazon Prime member and the Roku 3 has been one of the best investments I've made! I've had for 5 months now and never watch OnDemand...the Roku has NO
COMMERCIALS on most channels and I recently added huluplus to mine. I love it so much that I'm buying one for my 3 year old for Christmas! I have total control over what he watches and it offers the largest variety of children's shows. 
Trust me, you will not be disappointed!! I would be lost now without mine!

I've had my Roku for about a month and I am quite happy. I use it primarily to run my Netflix and manage my own personal media (this I do with the addition of  PLEX). I guess the only complaint I have is that many of the private channels are not available in Canada.

This killed a couple birds with one stone.  My original plan was to hook up a computer that streamed movies over the network.  I no longer need a bulky computer or tons of cables.  And it's painfully easy that my 7-year old can run it without any issues.
I would recommend this to a friend!
