Easy streaming

I bought the Roku3 about a month ago and couldn't be happier. After a few glitches on initial setup that required a call to the tech line and several "reboots" it works perfectly. It's so much easier than dealing with the laptop and cables. The menu is clear, searches are intuitive, and streaming has been flawless. Bought a second Roku3 a week later for a vacation cabin.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good but there are shortcomings

Good overall but the problem with the Roku is with some of the video services such as Amazon Instant and Netflix. The Roku should have a feature which allows you to enter the password to override/change the parental controls on the Roku instead of having to go back to your computer each time and change it there. Very inconvenient. Makes me not want to watch Amazon or Netflix.

I was using my PS3 to watch Netflix. Almost every time you turned on PS3 you had to do an update. Now just watch. Thank You ROKU.

I love my Roku. Its like my own little portable Entertainment device. If you got wireless and a TV , you're in business !

Very Nice OS, Mostly Average Apps

The Roku 3 UI is fantastic. It is well laid out and snappy. Unfortunately, Netflix playback was awful. Apple TV 2 Netflix is so superior in comparison. In fact, my ChromeCast streamed Netflix better over WiFi than the Roku 3 did with a wired connection.
Plex client streamed some Plex channels fairly well. However, it didn’t stream other Plex channels at all.
Movies played through the Plex server were very soft in picture quality.

I bought my Roku because I've been so frustrated with Direct TV (less than a year to go on the contract) and absolutely love it.
It was super easy to set up and connect with my wifi and relevant accounts.
Love it! I'm thinking of getting one for my parents too.
