I bought this unit as a method of decreasing cable and movie rental cost. It is amazing. It is user friendly and provides a great picture with great selections. Couldn't be happier!!!!

Liberating me from satellite

If I could only wean my husband from live sports, I would cancel our satellite and use only Roku. Easy to set up,easy to use, great flexibility. All interests are covered so we can watch everything that interests us whenever we want. I got the Roku 3 model because I live in the middle of nowhere and have slow DSL- no problems using a cat5 cable.

Slow video at times

I have noticed that when watching Netfixs there are times when the video slows down like the people on the screen move in slow motion.
I had a playstaion 3 before that never did this.

less take up space

Compared to my first Roku this 3rd once really does not take up much space. When I want to see a movie and go to my Roku 3. There is always something to see. It's simple to connect and easy to use. I'm glad I bought it.

So simple !!

I have cut the cord with cable. I have 3 Roku units in the house and we are very happy. Set up is amazingly simple and quick. The app to make my phone or tablet a remote control is great too. Streaming is the future of TV and Roku is the way to go!

Lives up to Expectations

As previously reviewed by others the Roku 3 does live up to the expectations. My configuration is like many: Roku 3 in conjunction with Plex Media -- works without a hitch. I've had my Roku for less than 3 months so I'm still trying things out, but there is a tweak I think could be made to make this a perfect device: I use both Spotify and Rdio when streaming music and find that using the Android or PC versions of these apps gives me so much more control than the Roku version. I realize this is not the primary reason to own a Roku but it would be nice. Also, the remote control PC/phone feature of Rdio should be also true for the Roku version. Like I said, still trying things out but I am extremely happy with this product so far.

Best of Its Kind

We have Roku and AppleTV. We never use ATV. Roku content vastly exceeds ATV content. Roku layout is simple and easy to navigate. Roku remote is far more ergonomic and intuitive than ATV. Roku does need to add YouTube.
