OMG words cannot express how much I love this thing! Goodbye Dish Network and your ever increasing monthly bill! I wish I had known about this Roku a year ago- could have saved hundreds on my sattelite bill. This thing is a breeze to set up and operate (and I'm no electronic Einstein by any means!) Love, love, love it!!
I have since bought another Roku for the bedroom and needless to say, have cancelled my Dish subscription!

Fr8 fix for using my laptop as a Netflix server!

Only problem I had was connectivity. I have wired internet and I needed the internet for the Roku device AND the internet login process. A simple call to Roku customer Service resolved this issue. Great lil device!

Bought the Roku when the laptop we had been using as a go-between from internet to TV died. Have had it for at least a month. Not much time to use it, but have been happy when we did. So far have used it for a Netflix series, and it was great. I know there is a lot more to explore, so some time when not so busy will enjoy doing that. In the meantime it is nice to just use the little Roku instead of an entire laptop.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I got this home and after reading more about it I almost returned it, thinking it was just duplicating capabilities I already had in my Samsung DVD players. Then I started reading the reviews about more channels and faster TTV (time to view!). I am still amazed at how quickly I can flip over to Roku and get to Netflix, Hulu, Vudu........I'm watching faster than the time it took me to confirm if my DVD wireless was still working....and I love the headset option to plug in and mute the TV.....I should say the family loves it since now they can sleep at night!
