Roku 3 - I love it

I used my daughter's Roku last Christmas and decided I wanted one. But getting my husband to agree because he handles TV hook ups. Well, he didn't ever do it so I bought it myself and guess what.....INSTALLED it myself. Easy...Peasy!
The picture is wonderful and very high def. I guess I am a picture snob because love high definition TV and that is why I bought Roku 3 rather than light or another version.
I love all the channels.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Even though we have a smart tv we had problems going through our cable company to stream-they wanted $80 to help us. Instead we just purchased the Roku 3 and it works fantastically!! Rather have my Roku than give the cable company more money!!

I am so thrilled with my Roku 3 that I bought a second one. I am planning on giving one to everyone on my Christmas list this year!!!! I bought a digital antenna to get regular channels and have cancelled my cable.!!!!!!

Easy set up, works well

After buying the Roku 3 and setting it up we're enjoying watching a variety of programming at a fraction of what we were paying with a satellite. As an added bonus we are not experiencing the weather frequent related outages we had with the old dish system. So far we've only tried Netflix which is nice and does not have any ads! We look forward to trying other channels in time. I wish Roku worked with Youtube... Oh well - maybe they'll offer that in the future.

I've been streaming, mostly Netflix, from my blue ray player for a while and it has buffering problems that drive me nuts. I bought the Roku 3 about a month ago and it's 1000 times better. The speed and picture quality are great, and there are so many channels that you can add. I have recommended this to several friends and family members, and everyone has thanked me for it. I cannot think of anything negative to write, so if you're into streaming video, Roku 3 is what you need.

You know it really boils down to the apps and what each of those apps offer. I decided to cut the cable cord in hopes Hulu+ and Netflix would suffice. They don't, usual complaints. The content is usually weak at best and even the T.V. shows they carry may only be a few shows from a specific season. Now I know this has nothing to do with Roku, but I did notice it's overall apps were just OK. A CBS app (if the agreement was in place) would be great or at minimum develop a browser so I can go to their website. Guess what I have to do to get to the web??? Power up my $35 Google ChromeCast. While I agree this is probably one of the best webtv devices out there I'm waiting for a XBMC device to shadow all of these lame devices for something truly robust.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Pleased with the various options available on ROKU. Also own a different brand of the device for another room and it has a limited number of programming options. I do, however, find the other device more user friendly. I would buy another ROKU if I had the need, because of the programs available, but would wish it adopts some features of other devices.
