setup was OK but must follow instructions to connect to wifi. Was disappointed at first because there was only a few channels .... but after learning to add many channels, it was good. Will buy another roku for my mom's home.
Pros: Fast Setup, Attractive Design
Cons: Need More Remote Instruct, Instructions To Add Chann

Best Internet/TV Connection

Programs/movies I can get on the internet I can now see on my big TV screen. Many things to choose from that are family oriented and educational for kids and adults.

Great Except for Immediate Setup Issue

If you get the message "HDCP unauthorized,content disabled" this apparently is not uncommon. It is due to HDMI handshake - before sending data, a transmitting device checks that the receiver is authorized to receive it. If so, the transmitter encrypts the data to prevent eavesdropping as it flows to the receiver. To fix this, you must unplug the power cable from Roku, TV and then HDMI cable. Wait for 30 seconds. Then connect the power cable to Roku, TV. Then swap the ends of the HDMI cable and try connecting to different port on the TV. SO...my first impression was not watching a show, but calling customer service (via IM). But they did a good job.

Cons: Difficult setup

I currently have 3 ROKU players. However, When this senior citizen received an email that offered a special discount on the "ROKU 3" and I discovered it also had headphones that simply plugged into the enhanced remote control I didn't hesitate to make my purchase! Anyone that has a partner or lives with someone who prefers or needs to go to sleep earlier than they do will love this simple headphone feature in addition to the other usual top quality features synonymous with the full product line!

Roki 3 is a great steaming player

I use the Roku 3 as another way to access Video and Audio Media content on my Home Theater System. It is a well built device that is easy to jnstall and to use. The Roku 3 allows great access to Internet content, free or by substription. The sound and video quality is great. It would make a nice addition to any high-end or low-end home theater system. Unfortunately, the Roku 3 currently does not have access to YouTube which is a big negative. If free access to YouTube is made available on the Roku 3, then I could rate this product as excellent. Until that time, I would rate the Roku 3 as very good.
