I purchased my Roku at a large box store. I have replaced the use of a Samsong smart DVD player with this product and it is quite superior. I have gone from a frustrating, sometimes slow, device to an easy and quick and reliable device. The only complaint I have is the lack of YouTube access on the Roku.

Use it for Netflix mostly. Yes, there are hundreds of channels but 99 percent are useless...at least to me. Also, I've only had it about 6 weeks. many for the reviews I've seen at amazon indicate it can go bad anytime and support is really bad. Only 90 day warranty and then your on your own.

A screaming streaming player

I got tired of paying buku bucks for satellite, which I booted back into orbit, so started streaming instead. The first experience was with a brand name BR player that streams but the apps are sequentially spaced and it took a long time to load via WIFI. The worst is that the BR player was slow to load and kept losing the WIFI signal, even though it's located only 2 rooms away from the modem. A friend recommended the Roku3 because it worked well for him. After researching the Roku3, I liked how the apps are laid out in an easy-to-maneuver matrix and the simple, but extremely effective remote. So I bought a Roku3 without expecting much but quickly became a convert. The apps and remote were even easier to use than I expected. My wife really likes that I can listen to TV with the earbuds so she can read or sleep in quiet. The best surprise? The Roku3's WIFI connects and holds the signal better than several other devices; 3 smartphones, a laptop, and 2 tablets. My R3's located in a corner farthest away from the modem and on a differnt floor and it absolutely SCREAMS compared to these other devices. So, yes, you can say I've become a disciple of the Order of Roku.
Pros: Earbuds 2 Isolate Sound, Easy to use Interface, Fast Setup, Good Organization Of Apps, Simple Controls, Easy to use remote, Wifi Has Great Reception
Cons: Can't Select Default Apps, Occasional White Frames, A Little Slow To Wake Up

Great streamer

We bought this product after the decision to get rid of cable and there's been no looking back. Do we watch all the shows we used to? No. But between Netflix and Hulu+ there is always plenty to watch. We haven't explored too many other channels outside of these, but are very happy with our little investment.

We use our Roku every single day; while I wish the remote was RF instead of bluetoogh, I love being able to use the headphone jack on the remote to watch movies silently while the rest of the house is sleeping.
