Better Viewing

Since substituting Roku for Cable TV, (1) we have had a broader selection of worthwhile choices, rather than 1,000 channels of junk, (2) our viewing has become more selective and, as a result, more enjoyable, and (3) although it was not out primary reason for making the change, we've save a lot of money. The headphone feature is a great plus.
We also exhumed our antenna, so now we have everything except some cable-exclusive sports, and we were tired of supporting them, anyway.

We purchased the ROKU when SkyAngel closed. We love it and it offers more than we expected. We have no cable or satellite and it is not needed with the ROKU.

I read as much reviews as I could get online on the Roku and AppleTv and decided to go with the Roku. All I can say is boy I'm happy I did. This device is built well,works great and has a ton of apps that can be added. Roku is definitely the best streaming device,my friend has the AppleTv,I wasn't impress the Roku beats it overall.

BEST PURCHASE I EVER MADE!!

I purchased the Roku 3, to eliminate the high cost of my cable bill. Of course I still needed internet, but with the Roku 3, I am able to have it hard wired through an Ethernet Cable so the wireless capability is still available for other devices. I am extremely happy with all the program choices that are FREE and I pay a fraction of the cost to add monthly movie channels. KUDOS ROKU!

Wow! I have a Samsung Smart TV, Apple TV and a wi-fi Blu-ray player, they all pale in comparison. Time to buy one for every room. The only question I still have is I'm still not overly convinced of one model of Roku versus the other wrt if it's worth the extra dollars.

I recently bought the Roku 3 and found lots of apps available although most of good apps you need to pay extra fees for in order to use. The product itself is controlled by a wand like controller and it has a few simple buttons to navigate and enter info. You can also connect to device via smartphone on same network. The challenge i have is that searching info when typing is tedious with the wand controller. Also there is no on off button and the product when left alone goes into sleep mode and sometimes comes out of sleep move when activating the wand but sometimes it does not and you have to unplug and replug the device from the power outlet. Many of the features of a smart tv are in Roku 3 so if you have a smart TV this may not be of much use or value as your TV would have most of the good apps already. So this tool would benefit from a QWERTY keyboard like the SONY and better stand by functionality as well differentiation from a smart TV
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Roku 3 Dies after three month warranty

I guess the the 3, refers to the useful life of the $100 roku 3. It died twice once before the warranty and again immediately after the warranty expired. I am not going to throw away money by having it repaired. I have learned my lesson on wasting money.
