Great product, excellent features and EASY install

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have built an extensive home automation network for a family member including lights, door sensors, motion detectors and many other pieces. This was the last piece they wanted.
I bought about 6 weeks ago and so glad I decided we went with the 914. It connected to our network in seconds and was very easy to configure. It installed in minutes and programming was again VERY easy. Master code set and a couple of extra codes for family members.
Finally I spent about 10 mins setting up custom options in the network.
I have since bought two more of these ( for our homes ) as well as the add on module to convert deadbolks.
Have been a kwikset customer for 25 years and these new pieces did not disappoint.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Randomly stopped connecting to SmartThings hub

Was working fine with my SmartThings Hud then a few days ago it keep saying “hub disconnected”, “hub connected” over and over. The next day, the smart deadbolt stopped responding to the app. My SmartThings hub is fine. My router runs both 5 and 2.4 so that’s not the issue. I’ve tried resetting both the hub and deadbolt. The lock simply will not connect to the hub. So, it’s just a regular keypad deadbolt now. This company only guarantees to fix it for one year. For how much you pay, it’s a waste of money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We're sorry to hear about your troubles and would like to offer some troubleshooting steps that will help: Replace the batteries in the lock and ensure the lock is not jamming by checking your door jamb hole to make sure it's one inch deep. Next, perform the manual door handing process to recalibrate the latch. Exclude the lock from the hub and repair it.

Works great with my Wink Home Automation!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this lockset about 12 months ago to upgrade our SmartCode 913 deadbolt so that we could hook it up to Wink. We have Wink set up to provide an alert each time the door is locked or unlocked, so we can now see when our cleaning person enters and leaves. We can also remotely unlock the door and best thing is that we can lock the door remotely - no more turning around the car on the way to work to make sure we locked it. Batteries last about 6 months (we use the door a lot and always lock it). Love it!

5 years and dead.

The builder installed this lock (without the Zeebee smart connection) to all the entry doors in our condo building 5 years ago. Mine just died. The mechanics are perfect, the batteries are new and the light is green. But the combo code won't open the deadbolt. I've been listening to it slowing die for months and fortunately, I always carry my key.

Here are some steps you can try to troubleshoot your lock:

Replace batteries and perform a factory reset, which will remove all current codes. Next, perform the manual door handing process and program a new user code. Please see the following link for reset and programming instructions on pages 3 and 4.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The good: Really easy to install and program. Solid deadbolt. Good looking.
The not-so-good:
1. The features were oversold by Home Depot. They made me believe that if I installed a hub I'd be able to see on my phone who entered my home based on the code they used. That actually wasn't true. You can only see that someone entered.
2. The touchpad isn't really reliable. Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. When it works it's great. When it doesn't I have to use a key, which sort of defeats the purpose of having a keyless system in the first place. I have never been able to figure out why this occurs and neither has the phone support. They just sent me a new one that did the same thing.

Lock keeps failing to connect to my alarm

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this lock to connect to my Monitronics alarm system which is compatible with Z wave products. This lock works pretty good and is convenient, but it continually reports lock failed and will not allow remote access to it. The codes still work but I wanted to use it to remotely unlock my door for people I didn't want to give a code to, i.e. my house cleaners. Instead I've had to set them up with a code which doesn't even log when and who is unlocking the door. I have tried deleting the device and rewarding it multiple times with no success. The lock is only about three feet from the alarm panel and other Z wave devices work flawlessly. I bought the device online and wonder if the zwave portion is bad in the unit I received.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Product

I have had this deadbolt on my house for about 4 years and have had no problems. I use a SmartThings hub. I can lock/unlock, add codes and monitor activity through SmartThings app and through Alexa. Only drawback is that I cannot remotely add and erase codes via Alexa.
I bought a second similar product for my rental unit in Florida. I can assign codes and erase codes for each renter. Never had a problem.
Battery life is based on usage of course. At my home and my rental they last about 6 months.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good quality lock for home automation

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had three of these for almost two years. They work pretty flawlessly with Vera home automation. not so great with Open-ZWave since the documentation for hardcore z-wave users is lacking. So if you're just looking for a home automation solution that's simple and works great with a hub. This is your product. If you're looking to get into the nitty-gritty of Zwave, I'd pass on this until they release their full API.
