Auto lock a must for those with kids...

I have installed over a dozen of these for friends over the last couple years. Absolutely love them, especially the pin switch to set a 32nd auto lock on the deadbolt. I never have to wonder if the doors are locked or not.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works well; high noise when moter runs

I've been using this lock for over a year. It works great. It is wonderful to never worry about keys, or being locked out. If a kid is sleeping, I can leave the car on, while I prep his bed. It's just really high wine when the motor is moving the deadbolt.

The worst!

This product does not work. It is almost impossible to get hold of someone to help with the installation. When I finally got hold of someone, they told me the product was faulty and they would send me a new one. The sent 3 new ones and none of them worked. Even a professional locksmith was unable to install it.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Worked great for years. Now the deadbolt cannot be fully turned to the unlock position without wrestling with the lever. When the door is finally open the deadbolt only partially extends. It will not lock without the key or the inside lever. New batteries did not help. Took it off of the door, using the key, the deadbolt works perfectly. Gears are fine, must be the motor. Was going to just replace it, but now I find out that it has been discontinued. Sadly we have three of these. So, I guessing, since they are all keyed alike, we'll have to call locksmith out to replace them all. I'm sure Spectrum Brands planned the obsolesce. Funny thing, this is for a door to the back porch, we often use the inside lever to lock and unlock the door.

Great customer service!

I had previously bought SmartCode door knobs. Quite pleased, I added Smartcode Deadbolts three months later. For some reason I had difficulty adding SmartCode. Called customer service and in less than a minute a pleasant representative had our household all SmartCoded! Great for the kids.

Simple to install and easy to use

I have had this kwikset lock for over a year now and it has performed exactly as described in the paperwork. Good points are the ability to change codes and let family have access without carrying a key. We have not had any major problems outside of weak batteries. If there is one weak point it is that batteries are not cheap and you do need to replace them.
