I bought this product over a year ago for the front door of my Cape Cod home. Easy to install. Works without a problem. I don't even carry a front door key anymore. And, after the hard winter we just had (2014-15) I know it will be functioning for many years to come.
I would recommend this to a friend!

VERY HANDY DEVICE, IT HAS USEFFULL FEATURES THAT SERVE A PURPOSE. IT IS ON MY ENTRANCE DOOR, AND HAS PERFORMED AS ADVERTISED. GOOD JOB KWIKSET. WHAT A WONDERFULL TIME WE LIVE IN.

I wish I could put one of these on each of my doors, it is so easy to use and safe. you set the combination to many codes for a crook to guess the correct one. Don't need to worry about loosing or forgetting a key, though a key can be used. Haven't changed batteries since installed a year ago. Keypad lights if needed. Very safe and very convienent.

I use this lock with a SmartThings hub and it works great. Goes through batteries every few weeks. Get two sets of rechargeable batteries and it works out great.

I was able to install this item myself. I love the ease of use. Never have to worry about being locked out. Loved it so much I bought one as a gift for a family member and they also love it!

some problems

I bought an electronic lock which lasted 4 years before the keypad ceased making contact with the brain. The key pad consisted of rounded blister buttons which hardened. I contacted Kwikset and they sent a replacement. All I really needed was a new keypad; The new one was of much better quality due to being made of raised, sealed, rubber buttons. I changed just the key pad and was delighted that the lock worked well again. I hesitate to use the SMART KEY functiion as there has been problems with people locked out due to "rekey" not working properly.
A year previously I bought the same type for my cottage which "ate" batteries. 4 batteries would last 2 weeks. Kwikset quickly replaced it!
I really like these locks as I can change the combination for cottage guests and also for home: Grandaughter, cleaning lady, neigbor watching house (vacation).
