Durable and very well made

I've had this deadbolt on my front door for almost 3 years now. It even stood up to the front door being kicked in by a burglar and was able to reinstall it on the new door. Uses 4 AA batteries that last several months before needing to be changed. Touchpad will alert you when batteries are getting low. Can program up to different codes. Has stood up to the outdoor elements and still looks brand new. Very satisfied with this purchase.

Like the function

Bought this particular model a month or so ago. I had the same model but in a different color however, I had to install it upside down to make it work. I'm not sure why but that was the way it was set up, I guess, to operate the opposite direction as to my door. Anyway, I love the convenience of these looks. No more messing with keys or worrying about loosing them. All you have to do is remember your code, which is easy to set. The first lock will be installed on my back door when I get it done, it works the opposite direction to the front door. I don't think there is any particular direction associated with these locks but the first one seemed to have a specific direction and will work for this door.

Easy to install & use

I bought my dead bolt over a year ago, it went threw the first set of battery's in a few months since replacing them it still on second set!

Kwikset - SmartCode 909 , Direct Replacement

I bought the SmartCode deadbolt after trying it at a model home. Not only it was functional, it was so simple to replace our existing Kwikset deadbolt with just a screw driver. It was truly a direct replacement and I was able to use all the existing hardware other than the lockset and cover. Just add 4 x AA and follow the clear instructions to program the lock. The result was so satisfying that I purchased a second unit.

Secure and convenient

I actually have two of these keypad locks.One at a lake condo I've had about two years and one here in my primary home I've had about three months. They make life much simpler. At the lake if you go to the pool or out on the boat I don't have to remember a key. If friends or family want to go i give the them the code that i am currently using. I use two codes. One that only my wife and I know and one that I give to friends,, family or service people. I change the second code often. If an HVAC man is coming when I cannot be there I change the code for him only, often part of his phone number. After he leaves I change it to something else.
If a family member needs to get in I tell them the current code. I make a note of the current codes in my smart phone. Bottom line is it is secure and convenient

I installed this lock on a mud room entry door during a remodel project. It has solved
all our lost key problems ( The Kids ). While adding a better level of security. A perfect match for our household. Will also be adding one to our front door.

Used this on my garage pedestrian entry door and absolutely love! Such a great idea. No more fumbling with keys. Easy to use and very safe. Great for my elderly mother to use getting in and out as well.

ABSOUTELY LOVE THEM GREAT PRODUCT EASY TO INSTALL. VERY CONVENIENT EVERYONE HAS THEIR OWN CODE. CODES CAN BE CHANGED ANYTIME WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT. IT MAKES YOU FEEL MORE SECURE. WORTH THE COST & STYLISH TOO! MATCHES ANY DECOR. NO MORE: DID WE LOCK THE FRONT DOOR? IT IS ALWAYS AUTMATICALLY LOCKED WE LOOKED AT A COMPETTOR'S SIMILAR PRODUCT: IT WAS MORE EXPENSIVE AND WE DID NOT LIKE HOW IT WORKED.
