I keep two of these printers going at all times - one for my sublimation inks and one for my regular printing needs. It is great for scrapbooking - will print a 12 X 12 borderless page. I would have given it five stars, but the printheads in my last one clogged easily and had to be replaced recently. Print quality is very good, and the ink is cost effective for this printer.
I've had mine for a little over two years and I can truly say that my prints are excellent! The inks are a little pricey, but the last a relatively long time! I do mostly CD Printing and 5x7's, So ink consumption isn't too much of problem! Thanks Epson and will be upgrading soon!
I'm giving 4 stars simply because I've only had my Epson 1400 for 2 weeks. I've always been thrilled with the print quality of my previous Epson printers. This is my first higher end printer, and I'm still thrilled with the quality of the print. It is simply beautiful. I just printed a brilliant blue that I know would have been impossible for most printers to achieve. I love it. Thank you, Epson, for creating a superior product.
The Epson model 1400 is a replacement for my older 2200 model. It's a lower cost wide format printer able to print 11x17 & 13x19 inch check plots. The 2200 was a work horse for many years, and had heave use. From the little time I have used the 1400 model it too should preform under heavy use. It has newer technology, and is more efficient use of ink with the plots.
The Epson Stylus Photo 1400 is truly a "Magnificient Machine". Coupled with Epson papers and inks, it is hard to beat. This is my second one. The first I gave to my sister and when I was ready to replace it, I could find no better printer.
I just got this about a week ago, so, I haven't had the opportunity to try all the things it can do. The first thing I tried was the CD and DVD printing! That will be an important part of my business. That worked very well and allows me to print only what I need, which is exactly what I want. I'm going to print some brochures next as soon as I complete the design. After that's all set up I'll turn to the photographic part of the 1400. I'm looking forward to finding out everything this machine can do! Maybe I'll write another review in a few months.
