The first print I did was a closeup of a flower that I had previosly printed on my Epson 2200. The difference is incredible!! The details, colors and feel of this print has no equal. This is by far the best bang for the buck printer made. I have 5 printers all serve a purpose, but the 1400 is beyond belief. anyone serious about Photography,needs the 1400. bassettib2 Phlorida Photos

We just purchased our second Stylus Photo 1400 Inkjet printer. The old one lasted three years. However, by the end of two years, normal printing (black text) was impossible to read and required turning on photo printing - a high use of printer ink and long print times. We also had trouble with banding (vertical). The final straw was black ink that we could not clean out which left streaks on print outs.
That aside, when working well, it is an excellent printer and does the type of photo printing that I need, as well as the manuscript printing we do here which includes a lot of graphics. I gave it four stars because it simply does not have a long enough shelf life.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had the Epson Stylus Photo 1400 printer for 9 months and have printer over 500 photos.
The speed and quality are grate, I have never had a jam or smudged print.
This printer has performed above my expectations it is a pleasure to use, I recommended it to one of my friends who bought and he is also happy.

I've owned many Epson printers. Some of my favorites are long gone. This is a good printer. Maybe not as clear as my old 2200 or 1800, but good for the price. I liked it enough to buy a second one to replace my 1800 when it died. Inks are more but do seem to last longer.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The Best Photo Printer I've owned!

The Photo 1400 has excellent tonal range and accurate color reproduction, even when printing on various media straight from Photoshop! Be aware- Photos that you print using the highest settings will at first look too dark, and you may feel disappointed. HOWEVER, this is because the Claria Inks need to dry fully (about 24 hours) before the colors in your print are totally stable. This printer supports 19 X 13 BORDERLESS media, and has allowed me to produce professional products without the need to leave home to do it! The ink is pricey, but will last well if you adjust your settings to your media and purpose each time.
