I was in the market for a printer that would make Photographs larger than the usual 8x10. I finally have found that printer in your Epson products. I purchased the Epson Model 1400 stylus printer and am very happy that I can now make prints up to 13x19 inches. Possibly, sometime in the future, I will be able to purchase a printer to make even larger copies. The color and clarity, with the 6 ink cartridges is extremely remarkable.
I am definitely an "Epson Gal!" I wanted an affordable large format printer for my digital scrapbooking. I love the prints produced both on the Ultra Premium Presentation matt and on the glossy photo paper. I also like the versatility of being able to print numerous sizes with this printer. I should have gone right for this one instead of getting the R260 photo printer first. I would have one less printer taking up space! The only problem I have encountered is that the paper feed is sometimes tempermental
The Epson 1400 Stylus Photo is a great workhorse inkjet printer. We have had this printer for at least 2 years and it has been extremely dependable. Makes great quality clean b&w line prints of drawings for presentation or markup. Color photos print great on glossy or matte paper, depending on your preference. The only downside is that the ink cartridges are not cheap, and they are not recyclable. The upside is that there are separate cartridges for each color, so if black is most used, you only need to change it. When and if Epson starts a returnable cartridge program, I would give this product a rating of 5 stars. Until then, it is a 4.
As a professional photographer, I am always looking for perfection. But in the real world it is hard to find.Since only God can make a tree. I have used many printers and was in need of a new one and began my search. I believe I have found a great printer, with vivacious colors and the uniformity in printing with high definition ink, the Stylus Photo 1400 is all that it is ment to be and exceeds in many ways. I recommend this printer full hardly.
I have loved this printer since I got it about a year and a half ago. The color is great and I have had no technical difficulties - until this week when my IT guy installed the new Mac OS Leopard. All of a sudden, I couldn't print correctly to 13 x 19 paper. We finally found out that Epson does not support a driver for G5s using Leopard, and has no plans to do so. You must have the Intel chip or forget it. So make sure you have that Intel computer before purchasing this printer
I like the print quality for the most part, but I have issues with paper handling and no auto detection of paper type. The Ink cartridges are expensive and small. The software ink monitor starts warning of low ink way too early.
