I bought this printer after a trip to Disney World. The print quality and speed is fantastic. The only downfall that I have found is that ink is expensive for this model.
I have owned my Epson 1400 printer less than a year. I just love this printer. I'm so proud to frame my large format photos. My family swears they look professional. The ink is great. Claria Hi- Definition ink just make the photo come alive. Thera are times I just have stare at my photos on the wall. I have never been able to produce the quality to my pictures that I have taken. I have owned at least 10 other printers and the 1400 is just the best by far. The color is real and the black and white photos have never been better. I'm sure that Espon has bigger and better printers available, but my Espon 1400 for the money is one fine printer.
We replaced a Stylus Photo EX with the 1400, and can't believe the difference. The 1400 is so much more accurate in the color reproduction. It is faster and so much more quiet than the Stylus Photo EX. We are absolutely thrilled with our purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a fast accurate printer that prints on CD/DVDs.
Color prints from this printer are simply beautiful with nice rich colors. If you're looking for high quality color prints, this printer is an excellent choice.
This printer creates beautiful photo's. The color's are vibrant and the exact same as the photo. I would definitely recommend this printer to everyone. The best I like about it is that you can print on printable CD's without having to buy the expensive machines to do this.
I like this printer very much. It's definitely designed for the task at hand. I'm a pro photographer and needed to be able to print proofs and final products for quick response to some customers. This printer seems to be a good solution. One recommendation is to ensure that the printer is calibrated to the computer and software being used so that the colors are equivalent among all devices. I have yet to get it to print exactly what I see in terms of color. I'm looking forward to getting some advise (from Epson) on the best drivers to use in my case. As in all these printers, consumables do go fast when you print at max quality and print a lot, the good news is that prints are crisp. This cost is something that non pros should account for as a recurring cost. They are not cheap! On thing. I do find myself increasing the midtones in the pics in order to get those details to appear on the prints. In other words, I always get a slightly darker pict on the printer (some midtones lost) which I hope will be resolved with the appropriate driver.. In the end I'm happy with the purchase. :-)
We use the 1400 for most printing not just photos. We mail lots of large 11 inch envelopes but at times it is picky about the heavy ones and just feeds them through without printing.. This is a Good Wide Format printer and Epson is great company with a good line of printers..
I am a photographer, and own 3 Epson Printers. Recently I needed a large format printer in a hurry, to compete in a last minute gallery show. Being the typical starving artist, I immediately went to my local Pro Photo store, and purchased the Epson Stylus Photo 1400. I already owned two other Epson Stylus Photos; The 500 and the 700, And knew the 1400 would fill my immediate needs.
The Prints are Unbelievable. Can you say POP? I used Epson 5 star Paper, and the results were stunning.
The only problem with the printer is the very small ink cartridges.
However, I have printed 25-30 11x17s, 13x19s and 8 1/2 x 11s and still have ink.
I would love to own the 4800, and maybe if I sell enough large framed/matted pieces, I wil get my wish.
For those on a budget, that need High Quality large format prints, This is the printer for you.
