I've had my 1400 for a little better than a year now. I must say that there for awhile I was having issues with the printer. It would not read any of the blank onk cartridges i got from Espon. (of course it may have been the cartridgesm read on) Epson was FANTASTIC about it. They would send me replacements at no cost to me. I do porfessional photography and am quite pleased with the quality of prints this printer produces. It does seem to use a lot of ink so naturaly wish the cost of the ink were a bit less. But the old saying goes - "You get what you pay for" And I would much rather pay for quality than be cheap and lessen the quality of my work
As a former professional photographer, I am very concerned with the quality of prints I produce even for personal use. I have had a number of larger format printers before but none can produce the quality of print that this printer produces. One of my standard tests is a series of photos, all under 1 megabyte in file size, printed at the largest printer capability. I did not expect much at 13 x 19 inch size, but the prints were suprisingly sharp. The photo enhancement software really works and the quality amazed me. The printer was easy to set up and worked flawlessly from the moment it was available. I have printed with it from Vista and Windows XP without a problem. The only concern I have is on the ink capacity, but that is ALWAYS a problem with ink jet printers. All in all I would recommend this for anyone wishing to make large prints from their images. It does most of the work for you, BUT use the print set up for a print preview, not your software, as most software does not really support this size printer. The price is good, so there is no excuse for not buying one of these units while they are available.
I have owned the R380 for a while and really liked the inks, but I needed larger photos so I bought the 1400 and man do I like this printer even though I have only had it for a few days I love it, I would recommend this printer for anyone on a buget the price is right. I love this printer so far.
I've had this printer for over 6 months and am REALLY pleased with it. I use it to print 12" digital scrapbook pages directly from Paint Shop Pro X2 with no problem. Can print borderless or with a small white border. Borderless may cut off a tiny edge of your page - but nothing huge. Quality on the Epson Premium Art paper is MUCH better than printing on white cardstock/white scrapbook paper (I've tried!). I'd recommend this to any digital scrapper - it's a super value! :)
I bought this printer so I could print scrapbook pages, cards, and picture creations at home. I LOVE THIS PRINTER. The color & quality are excellent. I brag about it all the time. EPSON keep up the good work. I only buy epson products!! :)
this is the best printer I have ever worked with, excellent photos the use of ink is very good, most printers you can maybe get only about 20 photos and you are out of ink, I have printed over 35 prints ranging from 4 x6 to 11 x14 still have half cartiages use. Espon thanks for a very good product. keep up the good work.
thanks from a photographer, with a limited budget, I will be buying more from you, Epson thanks.
I have 8 printers from Ink Jets to Laser to Sublimation Dye and the Epson 1400 is just excellent quality and a workhorse. I just couldnt ask for a better printer. I still have an Epson Dot Matrix Printer that is over 17 years old and still works and Have worn out two Epson 1280's You just cant get a better printer.
