I wanted a printer that would print photos up to 13" X 19" without losing color and/or clarity. I take lots of pictures when traveling as well as in the back yard or of the grandsons. This printer does an excellent job with professional quality results.
I like the Photo1400 very much. It wasn't hard to put together. The only thing that was wrong with it was the CD that had the Adobe Photoshop Elements7 was blank. Other then that it is a very good printer.
SO VERY VERY Happy!!! I've had 5 printers in the last year none by EPSON after doing tons of research & insisting on this printer...I'M SO HAPPY! What a HUGE difference in Quality!! The "big name printing brand" does NOT come close to EPSON. Don't hesitate, if Quality is what your looking for you've found it right here!
Just a fair warning.....The Photo 1400 I purchased was not Windows 7 compatable. Fortunatly I saw the "STOP" instructions. It instructed me to download the drivers online. Almost 5 1/2 hrs later, on dialup, I was instructed to hook up the printer to continue. This is when I found out that a USB cable was not included. On the good side........quiet, fast , good quality pictures and ink was easy to install.
I've had my new 1400 for a couple of days. Right out of the box, in just a manner of minutes, I had it up and running. The only draw-back to installation was the fact that before you install it, you have to go online to update the drivers to Win7 64-bit, if that is your OS. I would imagine that this is a problem that will be fixed in the near future, as this seems to be the most common OS on most new, higher-end computers. I must say that this is the nicest large-format printer that I have ever used. The picture quality is fantastic; clear, tight photos that are true to the original image. I do a lot of computer generated graphics and before I got this printer, I had to go to a print-shop to get this quality. I swear that it is better than most of the home laser printers that I have used. Even with the fact that you need 6 color cartridges, the per print price is at or lower than that of a laser. Nice job again Epson!
This is the 2nd Stylus 1400 Photo Printer I've purchased. The photos it prints are superb, and in my opinion better than what can be done professionally. I'm a hobbyist photographer so I am interested in getting the best result at home. The colors, defintion, and clarity are outstanding! People are amazed that I am able to print incredibly beautiful images at home!
I will always buy an Epson, they have never broken down at crucial times or any other time. This 1400 series was my second Epson machine, my first was a dot printer, that i gave away because I wanted a more modern machine, even that one did not break down. The only thing I would change is the ink containers. They are just not large enough.
