This prrinter is not compatible with Mac's, which is a bummer cause as an artist I use a Mac as an artist. The replacement ink is way to costly to replace and the colour is off. Only printed about 25 works of art and needed new ink re fills. I am a media arts teacher and use and need a coloured printer for my work and my students.
Great quality photos, in a reasonable amout of time. If you buy this printer you need to check for the space you have as the printer is rather large. I was able to fit it on a workstation but it uses up a lot of space. Very Adobe Photo that comes with the printer has lots of features, and provides lots on options.
When my old 1400 wore out I looked over all the new models and choices and after comparing, and drawing on my experience with the old 1400, I bought another.
I was so excited to receive this printer. I printed 12 - 14"x11"s and 1 - 8.5"x11" and three colour cartridges ran dry (yellow, light pink and light blue). The other cartridges are relatively still full.
Perhaps this was why it was refurbished?
This printer is going to be expensive for me to use. As for the picture quality, etc., it is equivilent to my little Artisan 50.
Excellent printer, affordable and reliable. The hi-def ink makes wonderful pictures come to life and my clients love the quality...just like printing with the pro's..or even better!
Printer was easy to set up and easy to use. So far printed out about 50 4x6 pictures and was surprised I did not run out of the ink that came with the printer. My pictures were totally amazing. I love the color and the clarity. Finally my pictures look like I want them to look! I have not printed out anything larger than 4x6 yet since I only have my printer less than a week. You can pick the pictures I printed verses the ones I have taken to places to print out for me. Unbelievable and outstanding pictures from my EPSON. Love my EPSON.
The Epson stylus PHOTO 1400 is proving out to be a great printer as advertised. The 13" width print is very usable for lots of poster, protraits and much more. So far, I have had no problems at all, printing is excellent, quiet (except for loading and head cleaning at start). Photos are sharp and clearer than most. In the past, I have experienced many of the Epson printers. Most all were very good to excellent! The 925 got a reputation of bad heads! This was not the case however! I proved it to be defective cartridges! Others (Epson ) were very good. Last and longest service, is the r300. It is a workhorse! Just DON'T allow it to sit (or any one) for long times without ink! Most any ink will clog after many months on not useing. Repair parts (heads) are more expensive than the printer! Be warned!. All said, the 1400 appears to be one of the topmost printers in the Epson line of its level!
