This is my third Epson printer . . . each one has given me excellent non-stop service. The only reason to upgrade has been to avail myself of the latest and greatest printing technology. This latest purchase of the Photo 1400 came after a trip to Ireland returning with 1800 digital photos. Yeah, I know! I ordered online through Epson sales, the printer came within days and I've been printing sparkling, clear, sharp photos that delight me ever since.

Great printer

Great wide format printer for amatuer photo buff. have had a little trouble getting b/w prints to come out as shown on the monitor. But otherwise, super. Must use Epson inks and paper for best performance.

Incredable Color and Resolution

I have owned Epson products for over 15 yeqrs and have always enjoyed the quality of the print processing these units provided. The Epson Stylus Photo 1400 out preforms all of the previous models and all of its competitors hands down. The resolution and color quality of my prints are truly outstanding.

Great for Black-and-White Photo Printing

I use this moderately-priced printer to print my black-and-white photographs using special carbon-based pigment inks I've mixed myself. Not only does it produce very impressive fine-art prints, but the heads have not clogged up and needed cleaning so far after many months of use! I hope this printer never fails me, but if it should and need replacement (which I don't anticipate happening) I just hope Epson keeps it in production.

Awesome printer

I love this printer! The colors look amazing, there was no banding in my photos even though the ink was VERY low. Great replacement for my moms stylus photo r320.

Stylus 1400 - Paper Limitations

I love my printer. I've had it for several years, and - except for the amount of ink it consumes - it does it's job well. Here's what I wish it would do though - I do a lot of computer artwork, and this printer gives me excellent quality inks to print and frame my pictures. But it doesn't take thicker papers like watercolor paper or heavy card stock. I know the 1900 does, but its $100 more, and would give me more than I need. I just want to print on thicker paper, that's all. I have been using Epson Ultra Presentation Paper Matte, and it's okay, but it doesn't have the character that a true art paper would. I really like the capability to print all the way to the edge, even on the 13 x 19. Since the max length on this printer is the 19", I've started doing tryptches (sp?). I guess I could do longer on the 1900, but having the 19" length makes me be a little more creative when I want to do larger or panorama pictures. I kind of like having some limitations like that - it forces me to be a little more creative with my art.

Gets Better Each Time

This is my 3rd Epson Printer. I went from the Epson 1200 to the Epson 1280. I thought the 1280 was the best printer in the world. But it finally pooped out after many years of great service. I took a chance & bought the 1400 & I couldn't be happier. So far it's exceeded all my expectations. I'm a professional photographer & I make a lot of prints, so I need a printer that can print great detail. The 1400 is a great printer & at a great price. I wouldn't think of using anything but an Epson printer along with all their great paper products.
