Using this printer to make "prints" of my artwork. Love the options for paper size. Individual ink cartridges are easy to change out when one is empty. No waste that way. Printer on cart ... too big for my computer armoire! So take note of dimensions.

Mixed feelings about this printer!

I purchased this printer in fall 2010 and in January 2011 I upgraded computers and now run Windows 7 Professional -- everything was working great -- print quality still good -- however after running several brochures one day, the next day when I turned it on it was extremely slowing finding/connecting to the printer, then whenever I change a property or page quantity, it again takes forever to find the printer and then when I finally have all my settings like I want them and click on "print" it again takes forever to print -- like up to 10 minutes or more! And it shoots thru a blank page and then stops and waits for the sheet button to be pushed to continue printing, so I can't leave it unattended to print. Print quality is still very good - no complaintss there, but is driving me nuts to get it to print! I also have an Epson Photo Stylus 2200 and it prints fine - no delays -- but print quality is not as good as the 1400. I need to do something -- costing me time and $ waiting for it to decide to print! Great printer and great quality . . if you can afford the time it takes to put it into print action.

great for the money

I've had no issues with my new printer; the ink lasts longer than I expected and I haven't had any problems going a week between printing sessions. The only issue I have is that it prints VERY saturated colors; I've had to create a separate file of images which I've lightened and desaturated. I've made all of the possible adjustments on the print options. I have not callibrated my monitor, and that may solve the problem, but as long as I desaturate at this point, the images come out great.

Photo 1400 and windows 7

The 1400 is a great printer with lots of flexibility and consistent reproduction of colours until you switch from XP and run it in windows 7. I have not found a means of being able to select printer preferences from the print menu. Which would enable type and size of print materiel to be selected plus colour adjustments. Is there a Driver for windows 7 ?

Epson 1400

This printer does a good job on normal paperwork and pictures though I would not recommend it for "studio quality" photos. It is not a fast priinter but it is not real slow either. It is an ink hog and as such can be somewhat costly to operate. You would think Epson could produce the cartridges for less money, they must make a fortune on ink!

The 1400 is a great little printer to print photos, brochures, photo books, etc. I particulary love the ability to print on CD & DVD disks. That actually was the feature that lead me to the 1400. Slick method of printing them, not kludgey at all.

I keep two of these printers going at all times - one for my sublimation inks and one for my regular printing needs. It is great for scrapbooking - will print a 12 X 12 borderless page. I would have given it five stars, but the printheads in my last one clogged easily and had to be replaced recently. Print quality is very good, and the ink is cost effective for this printer.
