I love that I was able to print out 10X13 family photo's of my children however, the ink did not last and now have to wait to print any further because the ink prices are too high. I will have to wait until payday to purchase anymore ink. Other than this issue, the printer works great pictures. Thank you, Diana

Pleased, but....

This printer is fabulous, very simple to set up, and reasonably priced! The only problem I had was that the USB cable was not included, apparently I missed that little tidbit when I ordered the printer (it is noted in the "what's in the box" section). Luckily I had an old Epson printer, so I borrowed that cord. I'm not sure why Epson neglects to sell the product without the USB cord to connect to the computer??? It seems rather odd to me that one has to purchase the cord seperately???

review of the Photo 1400 printer

I got this printer about 2 years ago. My trusty 1270 Epson inkjet printed its last- It had a long run & was a durable accurate printer for 9+ years. I am an artist and designer-& print lots of promos and small versions of my art work for cards and portfolios. The color blue is very important for an accurate rendition of my work. This PhotoStylus1440 printer does NOT do the job that my earlier 1270 did. There are NO variation of blues and they have skewed the colors for flesh tones-if you just print family photos that's OK- if you want to do your art- get another printer!!!!!

Weird process to replace a cartridge/color balance

This printer requires several steps to replace a cartridge. It does not show on the printer which cartridge is depleted, it requires that you look at your operating system. Very unusual and cumbersome. Also, my prints tend to run dark and I've had to make many adjustments to get the color right.

Epson all the way

I am a professional photographer and use digital so i do most if not all of my own printing of my art work. Several years back i had heard some good reviews about epson printers and there ink quality so i invested in the epson stylus photo R200, i was amazed with the print quality. I had that printer until it did on me, at that point over the next year or two i tried various other printer brands and was never quite satisfied with the print quality. I was looking for a printer that would print larger than an 8x10 when i read some reviews about the Epson 1400. the price had come down a bit from what it had started at so i decided to invest in one, best choice i ever made. when this decides to kick the bucket i will get another epson, i will never switch to anything else.

Worst Printer

This printer is the absolute worst printer I have EVER used!
Paper does not feed consistently, the color printed is more is not the color seen on my monitor. It prints patterns on my photos that are not in the original, the ink is super expensive and does not last. You cannot choose the quality of print or the paper type you are using.
There is NO easy way to figure out how to align heads and clean nozzles. I hate this printer!!! A definite waste of my hard earned money.

Stylus Photo 1400

This will be my 2nd Epson Stylus Photo 1400 ,and I have owned several of the standard format printers and also scanners. This is by all measure the most appropriate for most users. The printer is very stable, prints beautifully, and as I orint about 300 labels and inserts each 6 months, I must have a very reliable printer. This is top of the choice menu. I will not use anything except OEM ink, as the refill, and refurb cartridges will cause poor quality over a short time, and will damage your printer. It is like using re-cycled oil in your Mercedes.. BAD !!

photo prints look bad

I have had no luck with this printer, or the software. I mainly bought it to print digital images, which even after troubleshooting, are always way too dark.. on Epson paper as well. I have tried to print documents and it did okay until I tried to print odd or even only in which it prints every other odd, or every other even. Now I need to change ink and you find the owner's manual to figure that out as well.. Its been a total waste of money for me.
