Bought the my first 1400 3 or 4 years ago. Great color even black and whites on matt paper. Another plus is direct printing on DISK. I print on all types of paper from plain to polished rag. If you really want to make this printer sing you need to profile it for each paper, otherwise you may not be happy with the results.
i recently bought this printer to make large prints for the price it is a great printer the prints are razer sharp with great color reproduction the install was easy the only thing i think would inprove it would be if it had wireless capability
I absolutely LOVE the Epson 1400. The features are fabulous! Having the ability to print up to 13 x 19 is a wonderful feature! The quality of Printing on paper, specialty paper, on a CD/DVD is PERFECT! The Epson Stylus is very easy to use and the reference manual is extremely detailed. The only negative I can find is the INK. Although the cartridges seem to have a nice quantity output, at least 100+ photos before I had to change anything, the price for all six is VERY EXPENSIVE and HARD to find. Only one local carrier had all six colors, and NOT in a bundle pack. Other than the ink and being able to find it locally, This printer is one of the best I've used!
Just unboxed the Epson 1400 and in less than 15 minutes was able to successfully print a notecard using a specific paper profile. Shortly thereafter printed a full size image with stunning results. Excellent results for an excellent price. Prints are on par if not better than third party printers I've been using.
I bought my first Epson Stylus Photo 1400 two years ago and due to its great abilities I saved a lot since I now can print all my promotional materials and certificates in-house!
Printer works great prints great projects. BUT if one catridge runs out you cannot print anything. I needed to print some 11 x 17 pages in just black ink. Would not let me due to the CYAN being out. Had to drive to print shop 12 miles away and pay for printings due to the time restriction I was working with.
wonderul quality and color. I find it slower than my former printer, especially draft copies. I haven't tried it on many surfaces yet, but works great on matte presentation paper. Ink is a bit pricey, but that can be expected with a quality print.
I've been using Epson for years. After reading the specs of this one and the success of my past printers I've chosen to buy and use this one. The quality of the prints and now the larger size have never given me more joy when it comes to editing and printing out the photos I've taken.I've tried several types of medium to express my artistic juices and have been most pleased so far with all of them. Even printing on CD's looks extremely Awesome. So professional looking too. My friends and others just can't believe that I printed these photos at home. When I look at my works I can't believe it either. Hope anyone who buys this printer finds it as great to use as I have. :)
