WOW!!!!

I purchased this printer because I kept having problems with color issues with my HP photo printers. The main problem seemed to center around color accuracy and brightness of the picture. I'm a photographer and I do a lot of printing. Well after being frustrated at my last photo shoot, I decided to make a switch to Epson. All I can say is WOW!!! I printed a picture out with my HP printer and then printed the same picture out with the epson printer and the Epson printer produced a better quality picture. Normally I would have to make adjustments with my HP printer software to make the picture look correct but not so with the Epson. That was a big issue for me with the HP printers because its very frustrating printing a picture then it comes out too dark or the picture color just don't seem acurate. That was not the case with the Epson. I'm a happy camper now!!!

Printed my whole portfolio on it. The quality is great. However I really dont like the way it prints on epson paper. Try Moab Lasal.

1400 replaced my 1280. Shipment and setup for the 1400 was fine. Color is beautiful, pretty much what I need for my greeting cards and art prints. Speed is fine too. Overall a successful purchase. But I do wish Epson would find a way to give us inks that last a LOT longer. After 120-130 letter-sized pages, they have to be replaced. The inks are NOT cheap.

I recieved my 1400 this past Friday..I found it very easy to set up and install softwear to my computor.
I have now printed out 26 4x6's and 9 8x10's.
I can't be more impressed with the quality of my pictures.They look like they were done at a pro shop.
I will add more comments in the future. I am going to start printing 13x17's this comming week..
I don't believe you can find a better printer at twice the price.
I am keeping track of the ink usage..I have a running list of the photo's iv printed, and when the inks are low I will be able to see just how many prints it will make before I need more ink.

I have had other name brand printers over the years but none compare to Epson. I love photography and enjoy making large prints as well as regular size prints. All sizes are equally clear. Printing CD covers is a bonus feature. The quality stays even when exposed to sunlight. People say: "YOU DID THAT!". I take the credit but it truely belongs to the Epson Stylus Photo 1400. Ease of use and outstanding quality.

Stylus 1400

I was so excited to receive this printer. I printed 12 - 14"x11"s and 1 - 8.5"x11" and three colour cartridges ran dry (yellow, light pink and light blue). The other cartridges are relatively still full.
Perhaps this was why it was refurbished?
This printer is going to be expensive for me to use. As for the picture quality, etc., it is equivilent to my little Artisan 50.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This review, requested by Epson, is a little premature. I've only had my Stylus Photo 1400 set up for a little over a week.
It is big, and finding space on my desktop was a challenge. It is a bit lound, but not objectionably.
Prints CD/DVD lables with little effort and lots of options for the graphics and text. Impressive results!
I've done a few color prints and they look great. Will be doing some wide format and panoramas during the next month and will report on that later. Wish it had a roll paper holder attachment though.
